How long were you dating your partner before you got married?

Was having a conversation with my cousin about how long you should date someone before you consider marriage and wondered about other people's experiences. I've heard about people getting married after only months of dating and still together years later and people who waited years to get married and have ended up divorced!

Four years.

started going out dec
engaged april
married aug.

so 8 months.

but we were older. We were seeing each other a lot. We were very sure very quickly.

married 23 years and very happy

13 years together before and now 5 years married.

Dated ex- fiancé for 4 months before we got engaged and I called the wedding off 6 weeks before the big day 5 months later.
met DH in dec, pregnant in April, got married 2 years later whilst very pregnant with DC 2.
just stating the obvious….having a child with someone generally ties you to them way more than any marriage. I know multiple people who know nothing about an ex husband they didn’t have kids with. Those ex-husbands with whom there has been procreation-you're stuck seeing them at least EOW for years.

4 1/2 years from meeting to wedding day. 22 when we met.

11 years together before getting married, 4 years married. List of priorities was house, both of us doing MAs (as mature students), having our DD and then last on the list was marriage.

Ok first date - Wedding day nine months . Married for over thirty yrs . We did vaguely know each other before dating .( no I wasn't pregnant 😁 )
