Are you still hanging your washing outside?

Even in the dull cold weather? I am...even though it's a bit of a bother...I do find it makes a difference...this time last year I would have shoved it in the dryer...

Yea, mine goes out all year round. We don’t have a tumble dryer

cushioncovers · 03/10/2022 09:41

Just about to hang mine out now.

GlamGiraffe · 03/10/2022 09:41

Yep, 2 loads on the line today!

35965a · 03/10/2022 09:42

I do, like you I wouldn’t have bothered last year past September but I am making more effort now. Even if it comes in half dry that’s fine, I’ll put it in the dryer for 10 minutes in the evening.

Bluevelvetsofa · 03/10/2022 09:43

I did on Saturday and it dried two loads really well. Today, probably not,, as it’s towels.

Hempy · 03/10/2022 09:43

Yep, we've a new washing line and I'm giving the tumble dryer the cold shoulder 😁

fairgame84 · 03/10/2022 09:46

Yes. I've always used the dryer this time of year but I'm still using the line. I've been caught out by the rain a few times but left it out, even overnight, and it's dried.
The plan is to carry on and finish it off inside on the airer and just use the dryer for when it gets freezing.
I'm due to give birth next week so not sure about using the airer and having damp clothes indoors with a newborn as the only place the airer fits is in the living room.

sunshineandsuddenshowers · 03/10/2022 09:46

It will need hanging again indoors but not for anywhere near as long. I always hang the towels out if I possibly can as half the wet out of them is a lot! Things got near-dry yesterday. Today will be more iffy. getting a pant/sock multi hanger was a game changer for us - so much less double hanging…

JudgeRindersMinder · 03/10/2022 09:47

Yes, but I always have

Eileen101 · 03/10/2022 09:48

Yes, we don't have a tumble dryer. It has to go on an airer in the house otherwise and gets in the way.

AJamEater · 03/10/2022 09:48

Yes, definitely. It's still warm enough here - dried two loads of bed linen yesterday.

PuttingDownRoots · 03/10/2022 09:48

As much as possible, and sticking the clothes airer in the carport sometimes.

I always hang my washing out, even in winter. Even though it doesn't completely dry it takes less time to dry inside.

Beeinmybonnets · 03/10/2022 09:49

Yes, will be doing it all year on dry days

BaskingInTheSun · 03/10/2022 09:49

Of course. It's out all year round.

Worriedaboutethics · 03/10/2022 09:50

@heartbroken22

sure am. When not raining!
love a good drying day! Haha

Catonthedesk · 03/10/2022 09:51

Yes outside , love how the only reason anyone cares now is because it costs them money not because they ever gave a hoot about the environment though

victoriacrosshairs · 03/10/2022 09:51

No. It's raining

Frazzled2207 · 03/10/2022 09:53

Yes at the moment- weather is mild- but come November probably not

Beautiful3 · 03/10/2022 09:55

Yes. Even if its rained on, I take it in and finish off in the dryer for 20 minutes.

MrsPnut · 03/10/2022 09:56

If the ground is dry then I hang the washing out. I got 6 loads dry on the line over the weekend and had washing out 4 out of 5 days last week.

I've got some towels to hang out today and then DD can start on her holiday washing.

ScarlettOHaraHamiltonKennedyButler · 03/10/2022 09:56

Yes I got two loads dry yesterday, a bit duller today right enough but will still put it out

JellyfishandShells · 03/10/2022 09:57

Yes, as long as it’s not raining. I won’t be changing my usage patterns this year as I’m not fond of using the tumble drier anyway, think it isn’t great for fabrics and only use it to fluff up towels or dry a load of knickers and small things when there isn’t much room on the line. We do have a very useful long bannister in loft conversion which is great for drying sheets and duvet covers , though.

SallyWD · 03/10/2022 09:57

As long as its not raining, drizzling then yes.
