Tralalalalalalalalalala · 27/09/2022 15:02

Elec last month 160
Gas last month 36

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 27/09/2022 15:02

Ours is £150. Not changed at all. And won’t till dec 2023. Which I am massively grateful for my husband for fixing us when we moved last year or we would be in real trouble

AuntieMarys · 27/09/2022 15:03

Last bill ( August 20th to September 20th) £77 altogether.
Previous 5 months £97 but we've started showering at work/gym.
4 bedroomed 3 floor house

Kim82 · 27/09/2022 15:06

£185 pm and we’re in credit. Had an email from Octopus advising us they’re reducing the DD to £119 pm but I’ve increased it to £170 just to ensure we don’t get in debt.

ChilliBandit · 27/09/2022 15:08

For those on Octopus, if you use their “crystal ball” predictor, are you all predicted to be in increasing debt from January onwards?

Bobbins2022 · 27/09/2022 15:08

Over summer used about £100. Whacked the DD up to 230 a few months ago when i heard what was coming so have about 300 in credit

DutchessOfMuck · 27/09/2022 15:14

3 bed semi detached house. We only have electric, no gas. I have a payment meter and I am now with the increase £80 per month.

endlesscraziness · 27/09/2022 15:14

This months actual electric bill was £125, not had the gas as the smart meter isn't working. 4 bed detached with a hybrid plug in car. DD at £240 to cover the year. Was £97 this time last year covering both. It's depressing

cptartapp · 27/09/2022 15:16

£63 per month for electric and £160 in credit. Fixed tariff until Oct 2023.
No gas, so about £75 a month on oil.
Four bed, two adults two teens.

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 27/09/2022 15:18

I don't know how the fuck everyone's bills are so cheap unless you're all living in 1 bed flats. Which is weird coz I though all mumsnetters earned over 100k
My DD for dual fuel is currently £312, set to rise in October. 4 bed detached. 5 people living here. I'm in credit, but not my much.

fyn · 27/09/2022 15:21

Around £90 a month on variable tariff for a four bed semi, two adults and a toddler. We have a smart meter so pay for usage each month.

Expecting winter bills to be about £120 a month after the £60 a month discount based on last years usage and the current capped unit price.

Yep, 1 bed flat here.

MinnieMountain · 27/09/2022 15:23

£132. Most of it electricity. We live in a 4 bed terrace.
I wonder how much DH’s WFH contributes towards that?

3 bed semi insulated it as much as possible for its age - don’t own a tumble drier, boiler and appliances only 4 years old. Apart from that we live a normal life really.

2 bed apartment. No dishwasher, dryer, electric car, etc etc. And I've always been frugal with gas and electric anyway. No lights left on, heating minimal, showers are max 10 mins

ItWasTheBestOfTimes · 27/09/2022 15:34

£110 dual fuel fixed September 21 - 23, 3 bed semi. Going to give the £66 a month rebate from my energy provider to a family member who is struggling with cost of living.

ChilliBandit · 27/09/2022 15:08

Yep. Non crystal ball gives a Jan estimate of £108.

Crystal ball gives £295, and predicts I'll be £700 in debt by August if my dd stays at £75 (that's with the £400 energy rebate factored in).

We’re a household of 2 in a 2 bed mid terrace. But where we differ from most MNers: we don’t wash towels and clothes after every use, don’t have a tumble dryer, wash everything at 30, use the oven once a week max (just tend to cook more hob stuff), don’t have a TV, don’t take 30 minute showers 3x a day, haven’t got the heating on yet and don’t set it above 18 when we do, etc. It’s nothing to do with our income, just why would we spend more than the minimum on energy when we could use the money on more fun stuff instead?

BarbaraofSeville · 27/09/2022 15:37

What do you want to know? How much the latest bill was?
How much our direct debit is?

How much our direct debit should be if we weren't paying off a debt due to missing some payments when our old supplier went bust and it took a couple of months to get set up with our new supplier, who didn't raise the direct debit quickly enough in response to the price increase so now we're having to catch up?

How much our direct debit will be once we've paid off the debt, reduced our usage because the price increases have been a bit of a wake up call about being a bit wasteful, plus the £400 has been taken off?

Because they're all different numbers. Why do you want to know? Are you planning to account for different household sizes, occupancy levels, insulation, budgets, types of heating, cooking and hot water systems and temperature preferences or do you just want the raw numbers?

onmywayamarillo · 27/09/2022 15:40

£100 pm using gas and electric

Direct debit £160 pm £560 in credit.

Can I get a refund? NO
can I reduce my direct debit? NO

have plenty of cash to pay if it's over or in debt...

Robbing twats are earning a lovely 3% interest on mine and millions of other peoples credit

RhinestoneCowgirl · 27/09/2022 15:40

Our most recent bill was £140, that's electric only, we don't have gas. Well insulated 70s terrace house.

Our most expensive bill to date was Feb 2022 which was £385, so not looking forward to this winter.

Chase them again. If they're withholding credit with no good reason you can escalate to the Energy Ombudsman.
