Monthly?

Last few months my bills have been around £50-60 a month for gas and electric. I am in a fixed tariff till Nov so expecting them to increase quite a bit then and with me starting to use heating again.

Madamecastafiore · 27/09/2022 13:58

7500 a year apparently.

NewBootsAndRanty · 27/09/2022 14:02

@ivykaty44 readings from Sep 1st up to the 24th inclusive.
Will be higher for this week for gas because I've been putting the heating on.

Still £47 - my supplier never increased them after our fix ended in March. According to the MSE calculator it will go to £55 with the £400 discount factored in.

Just realised I put the gas and electricity the wrong way round in the calculator! It will be £35 a month with the £400 off. Without that it would be £68.

Cheeselog · 27/09/2022 14:13

My supplier hasn’t been in touch to confirm what it will actually be from 1 Oct but they did send an email saying it would be £66 subtracted from the direct debit for those months. So I guess I’ll be paying £2 a month?!

girlmom21 · 27/09/2022 14:14

£226 going up to about £280 but we're in a 5 bed detached

Rumples · 27/09/2022 14:15

Using around £100. DD was £175 but it's been reduced to £105 from next month - guessing as I've built up a bit of credit.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 27/09/2022 14:17

@ivykaty44 for September so far averaging 9kw electric and 10kw gas per day

emmathedilemma · 27/09/2022 14:18

£73 last month (that's off a smart meter for electric and estimate for the gas but their estimates are usually over)

TheFormidableMrsC · 27/09/2022 14:19

£100, DD £90. I just pay the extra.

GottaGetOutofDairy · 27/09/2022 14:21

£240pm.

18 months ago they were £120pm (and we used about 20% more energy, we;ve since cut down)

Is that your actual usage or direct debit amount?
Direct debit amount doesn't always reflect the usage each month

CallMeNutribullet · 27/09/2022 14:25

Eon has just tried to increase my dd from £97 to £250 pm (2 person household, 2 bed terrace) even though I'm £500 in credit. I said I'd just pay for what I use instead.
My most recent bill was about £60

daisyjgrey · 27/09/2022 14:25

£50 direct debit, I use less than that though. The account is a few hundred in credit for emergencies.

That's my actual usage, balanced over the year. I'm pretty hot on knowing what we use, when and what the cost will be - so it'll be accurate to within about £5 I think.

YumYummy · 27/09/2022 14:27

Most of these bills don’t sound too bad.

QuietYou · 27/09/2022 14:28

£590 though we've been told we can reduce by £100

RoseBucket · 27/09/2022 14:29

For both (readings submitted monthly) I was paying £65 pm just received an email, going down to £39 pm.

QuietNeighbour · 27/09/2022 14:34

£87 DD for both gas and electric. About £280 in credit so when the winter usage goes up it’ll be more or less covered

JeanBodel · 27/09/2022 14:36

£440 per month for gas and electricity combined. We live in a small 3-bed end-terrace. We do have an electric car, mind.

Itstime1 · 27/09/2022 14:46

DD is £250pm we’re on a fix till Jan 24 (slightly higher than the current cap but lower than Oct projected).
actual usage is electric- around £130-150 pm and gas was very low (like £20/30) but obviously with the weather turning this will increase (we have a baby so have no choice to heat the house!)

PeloFondo · 27/09/2022 14:46

6000 gas
2000 electric
(kWh)

£42 DD after energy subsidy

whirlyhead · 27/09/2022 14:50

My energy provider isn’t subject to the price cap so my bills have gone up 6 times in a year (hooray). They’re going up again next month. Currently paying £232 a month for a 3 bed terrace, 2 people both working from home. I’ve asked to keep paying this even with the £67 monthly rebate. I am currently £850 in credit too so hopefully will make it through the winter in one piece. If I nobble my partners electric heater so he doesn’t keep turning it on.

ChilliBandit · 27/09/2022 14:55

At the moment it’s about £65 a month but we haven’t turned the heating on yet. DD is £145pm but the energy company reckons if I keep my DD at that level I will be in at least £1,600 of debt by next summer. I will look at the DD level again in January

tigerbear · 27/09/2022 14:59

£155 DD a month for both gas and electric, and we’re in credit.
Have just had a smart meter installed, so will be interesting to see what the real usage is, as we’ve always been quite lax at taking readings.
