From what I can see, they were there to present some kind of feature for This Morning - but then while they were there, decided to take the opportunity to queue-hop and go and visit the Queen lying in state.
I imagine there are lots of people who have to be there/nearby for work who'd like to queue-hop before getting back, but don't have the opportunity.
It's incredibly privileged and reeks of "our time is more important than yours".
But where I think they've made a huge error is not coming clean and apologising. I think a simple admission that they were there filming, didn't have time to queue but wanted to pay their respects, and in retrospect that might not have been the best decision - I think people would get over that, and probably understand. This insistence that they didn't see the Queen when they have literally been caught on camera doing exactly that treats everyone as a fool. The statement from This Morning is incredibly duplicitous and is making things a thousand times worse. There are lots of photos proving that the statement is a blatant lie.
I haven't been massive fans of this pair since the time Schofield came out as gay (but not because I care either way about his sexuality). During the interview where Schofield revealed all, Holly was fawning all over him. I remember her excitedly asking him if he had his eye on anyone, and blathering on about dating. It was all just incredibly disrespectful to this bloody wife, and showed no compassion at all for what she might be feeling with Schofield going public. It wasn't the time or place to ask if he was excited about the prospect of meeting someone new. Just awful. They just seem very self-absorbed, and the queue-jumping is a further example of what seems to be their shitty attitude.
