My friend’s mum was lady-in-waiting to Princess Anne. It’s just helping out with correspondence, attending events and making sure things go smoothly (if there’s a problem then the lady-in-waiting can raise it which is easier for everyone than the royal doing it), holding flowers that are given to the royal, keeping them company etc.

At Prince Phillip's funeral his driving carriage with his gloves, hat and treats for the ponies on his seat finished me off, it's always the little personal things.

I thought someone was joshing when they mentioned the dogs. I can feel myself starting to go. The dogs don’t know she isn’t coming back.
