bell yy, I could do with tomorrow off. I wish I'd gone to London as it may have been more cathartic. My teens have been miserable company.

All the presenters look a bit wobbly.

Did you see George and Charlotte singing the National Anthem? I loved that.

The innocence of children is always a wonder to watch.

They will have just known great granny and that she's the Queen.

And now grandad is the king.

They are far to young to know any of the other politics etc surrounding the monarchy.

MrsFezziwig · 19/09/2022 17:10

Just realised I haven’t brushed my teeth today and, like the royals, haven’t been to the loo for about 6 hours (though ex NHS so pretty well trained in that respect). Thanks @KenAdams for starting these threads and to all the Mumsnetters keeping me company today, it’s been so different to how it can sometimes be on this site.

AlimonyHelp · 19/09/2022 17:10

Thank you so much to everyone in this thread. You have really helped me through this day.

Perher · 19/09/2022 17:09

No, only the very start. They then cut away from the coffin and the family to show the piper.

They showed all of it.

daisybrown37 · 19/09/2022 17:11

Kirsty got to me 😢

Maireas · 19/09/2022 17:11

Thank you, OP, and thanks for the company, everyone x

notlyndasnell · 19/09/2022 17:12

Thanks for keeping me company everyone! I must have sobbed my way through a whole box of tissues.

CaveMum · 19/09/2022 17:12

The spider for those who missed it twitter.com/deplaurablenull/status/1571805366165602304?s=21&t=UcEcvvL5eBlvshjAHrYe8Q

Vapeyvapevape · 19/09/2022 17:12

Thank you all for the company, I'm watching it on my own so was nice to chat with you x

Mooserp · 19/09/2022 17:12

I've no idea how the RF have got through the past 11(?) days. It's been exhausting just observing it all.

containsnuts · 19/09/2022 17:12

What happened with the piper? The stream I was watching it looked like he piped himself out of the church - anyone understand the symbolism?

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/09/2022 17:09

Gosh thank goodness for that. I was confused. I didn’t see how the Queen could be cremated.

No, She most definitely wouldn't be..I mentioned the Crematorium as there too is a ''Holding area'' before the final act .

The Royals probably got a wee loo break when we were all watching the long walk though Windsor Great Park.

Must have had a tea then too.

She looks fine. She doesn’t need a brooch.

Kate got some criticism for too much jewellery at either Philip’s funeral or memorial and the press like her. Meghan obviously decided to play it safe.

So the music fades away

GoingOnce · 19/09/2022 17:13

So emotional. Charles was very moved. Edward and Sophie very upset. Harry looking furious (does he just look angry all the time now?) the symbolism of the removal of the orb and sceptre. What an ordeal for the family to witness.

Margaret chose to be cremated, because she wanted to be laid to rest with her parents, but there was not room for a fifth coffin.

notlyndasnell · 19/09/2022 17:13

@CaveMum I missed the spider; thanks for posting!

purpleme12 · 19/09/2022 17:13

Well I have to say yesterday I wasn't really sure if I'd watch this. Thought we might have it on in the background.
I put it on about half 10 and have watched the whole thing. It was like something you didn't want to tear your eyes from in the end.

MelodyPondsMum · 19/09/2022 17:13

Thank you MNers. My teen has been completely disinterested and DH is working so it's been lovely to have company. I didn't even intend to watch it all.

KosherDill · 19/09/2022 17:14

So she is lowered into the vault - incredbibly moving -- but that is just for the ceremony? She and Phillip will be brought back up (using that same mechanism in the floor of the chapel? ) and moved elsewhere? I'm confused.

I notice the camera did not show the vacant hole after the coffin was lowered. Was it covered before everyone walked out?

What an unforgettable day.

I've just said myself that I feel quite drained from today alone. Goodness knows how exhausted they must be.

toomuchlaundry · 19/09/2022 17:14

Margaret was cremated as there wouldn’t be room for her coffin in the family vault as well as the Queen and Prince Philip
