Poor Charles looked really teary when the National Anthem was being played

He had a wry smile.

For him to be king his mum had to die.

The emotion attached to that must be huge - without the fact she's just died.

Vapeyvapevape · 19/09/2022 17:06

Awww 😢

User287264 · 19/09/2022 17:06

Did Fergie walk up the hill in her bare feet?

DutchessOfMuck · 19/09/2022 17:06

@CatsandFish it was definitely king and charles had tears in his eyes.

morningtoncrescent62 · 19/09/2022 17:07

I wonder whether all that walking behind the hearse made William and Harry think about their mother? They were so young when they did that walk.

Am I going deaf? Although I probably am being mid to late 40s. But I listened so very closely because I wondered if they would sing God Save The Queen to honour the Queenn one last time or God Save The King. I very clearly heard Queen. Not King.
Edit just asked husband and my mum. They all said it was Queen.

I too heard ''Queen''....

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 19/09/2022 17:07

Yes @CatsandFish it was King.

Hi I wanted to ask what is difference between burying and interring?

I’ve just googled that. Burial is a body. Interring is burying ashes.

caz114 · 19/09/2022 17:07

No she had flat shoes on

MelodyPondsMum · 19/09/2022 17:07

I didn't expect it to be so emotional. From Emma the pony onwards, it was just so sad.
Having been to Windsor, I'm surprised that it looked larger on TV.

Yes...the giveaway being that he didn't sing. If it had been 'Queen' jr would have been singing too.

They're not buried in the earth, but sealed in a vault. That's why the coffins have to be lead lined

KingstonLane · 19/09/2022 17:08

Memorable, emotional, end of an era.

What a lady. Unimaginable without her.

I need to pick myself and family up, a traditional afternoon tea and a stiff drink.

Emma and the Corgis...and the Final Piper with the Lament..

Think she was leaving after Eugenie

Yip I spotted her. There is something very nice about her being included in both services.

IconicKitty · 19/09/2022 17:08

I'm sure I'm not the only one with a headache now. Too many tears, so much emotion. There has been a lot of discussion about this reminding people of loved ones they've lost and I've really felt that today. My grandmother (who looked very much like the queen and around the same age) died at around this time of year a few years ago. This has brought it all back. We take the present so much for granted and then they're gone forever. I can't believe how sad today has been Sad

Perher · 19/09/2022 17:09

PizzaFunghi · 19/09/2022 16:56

has the coffin been lowered now? did they show it happening?

No, only the very start. They then cut away from the coffin and the family to show the piper.

Gosh thank goodness for that. I was confused. I didn’t see how the Queen could be cremated.

I missed this too

See if this link still works. I watched a few minutes behind everyone on this thread and was able to go back a few times to things I had missed.

It was King. They sang send him victorious. Plus, Charles didn't sing.

i am not sure everyone sang it correctly though!

FetlocksBlowingInTheWind · 19/09/2022 17:09

He* would have been singing

Kirsty made me cry!

She set me off to, as she struggled to hold back the tears. The emotion in her voice just brought it out in me 😥

FuzzyPuffling · 19/09/2022 17:10

theDudesmummy · 19/09/2022 16:58

Did you see George and Charlotte singing the National Anthem? I loved that.

Yes, we saw that. It was lovely.

Hi I wanted to ask what is difference between burying and interring?

Burial in the earth, but a coffin is interred in a vault or a tomb, ie it’s not buried in a grave, but sits in the tomb, usually on a shelf or niche. The chapel where they will be interred is just a very small room under the floor.

SoupDragon · 19/09/2022 17:10

Perher · 19/09/2022 17:09

No, only the very start. They then cut away from the coffin and the family to show the piper.

They cut back to it again though.
