Oh gosh, that was a gut punch.

The crown being removed. Almost like she’s being de - monarchised.
Really is real now isn’t it?

Sky news commentator says she enters the grave as a simple Christian soul.

'Elizabeth can descend into the grave as a simple Christian soul.'

😢

CaveMum · 19/09/2022 16:42

Charles has to place the flag at the end of this hymn, then it’s the breaking of the “wand”.

MarshaBradyo · 19/09/2022 16:42

Well done with the orb etc

Hellocatshome · 19/09/2022 16:42

Someone said something about them breaking her wand which sounded a bit Harry Potter, did I hear that right?

morningtoncrescent62 · 19/09/2022 16:42

How on earth are they managing to sing a rousing hymn after what's just happened?

Sunbird24 · 19/09/2022 16:42

Anyone else really hoping she’s got her handbag in with her?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 19/09/2022 16:42

Elwynsmum · 19/09/2022 16:40

I sort of want to see her coffin join Prince Phillip’s… I hope we get to see it enter the vault.

Family only. Sorry about that 😒

ApolloandDaphne · 19/09/2022 16:42

It's so very symbolic. She becomes an ordinary person again.

PPPPlease · 19/09/2022 16:43

I was as nervous for him as the pall bearers! Those little steps and a patterned carpet-I’d have tripped for sure.
Surprised no gloves though.

not hers - the lord chamberlain's - signifies the end of his service to her I think

frasersmummy · 19/09/2022 16:43

I was surrprised that in st giles they said trespassers and not debtors..

"giving back the instruments of state" is so very poignant. Not long now till the family can step out the glare of the television cameras .. for a few hours anyway

She does . I'm in absolute bits .

urgen · 19/09/2022 16:43

I am glad the media are being respectful and not zooming into the RF faces.

GuyFawkesDay · 19/09/2022 16:43

Some cracking hymns

I suppose because it is all about the Christian faith, and putting your trust in God (which is what this hymn is all about). If you believe that, then death is just the beginning.

I've been thinking that for days! Though not with a marmalade sandwich inside, perhaps.

CaveMum · 19/09/2022 16:44

Spotted former jockey, now trainer, Richard Hughes. He put a lovely photo on his twitter feed of two of her horses after the Queen’s death was announced.

Has anyone spotted her dresser? She must be in bits.

She wouldnt want worldly good. Just her wedding ring...

ShirleyJackson · 19/09/2022 16:45

Well that was a moment, wasn’t it?

Duty done, Ma’am. Sleep now.

User287264 · 19/09/2022 16:38

I'd always say "on earth" because being "in earth" suggests a while different thing! But then we have debtors rather than trespassers so anything goes I guess

There are a few updated versions, I prefer trespassers and I stick to it!

MrsFezziwig · 19/09/2022 16:45

Pleased to see a girl in the choir

PizzaFunghi · 19/09/2022 16:46

I don't think it's updated versions of Lord's Prayer, just different traditions depending on which 'branch' of the church
