@Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious Thanks, I was just thinking how awful it would be to have to see them for the last time with the world watching

Was that Peter Phillips' elder daughter I glimpsed?

Yes, I think both daughters one either side. I think I saw Mia as well.

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 16:29

Anyone spotted any foreign royal families?

Queen Margrethe of Denmark is definitely there.

RedToothBrush · 19/09/2022 16:32

Sammysquiz · 19/09/2022 16:31

Yes, but it’s not into her final resting place. She will be moved again, and there’s a private service for that. Not until 7.30pm, such a long day for the Royals.

Thankfully Ann will get time for a wee and some food before then.

I heard on the radio, the Corgis are going to live with Andrew, poor things.. sorry to deliver that info at this time.

He bought them from her during lockdown

Anyone spotted any foreign royal families?

The Dutch royals are on top row in section where Harry sits

I've not found out anything either. I think one was 21 and from Fiji but that might have been one of the bearers in Scotland.

Yes he was in the Scottish bearers group

Depends if they're married or not. They were up here, Norfolk, in Summer for their Summer camp just after the Jubilee. I keep wondering if I stroked the nose of one of the horses who're now on parade!

The household cavalry did the escorting, the Grenadier Guards did the bearer party. They don't have horses.

CaveMum · 19/09/2022 16:33

The coffin will be lowered out of sight shortly, but not interred in the family vault until the private ceremony tonight.

PizzaFunghi · 19/09/2022 16:33

If it's like Prince Philip's funeral, the cameras will look away while the coffin is lowered. I think there was music in the antechapel or something that they could focus on

I wish they had! Although I’m now blubbing at the idea of my dog being stood there for me

The dogs were there, Sam and Muick, waiting with a guard as the coffin approached the castle

That would be awful, I'm so glad they have a private ceremony and can go down into the vault. It can't be easy having the world watching you in a funeral, trying to remain somewhat composed Sad

DarkDarkNight · 19/09/2022 16:34

Fergie is definitely there, sitting with her daughters and their husbands.

I believe that they have said they will show it this time rather than avert the cameras.

urgen · 19/09/2022 16:32

How can the children and grandchildren cope with seeing the coffin lowered with the eyes of the world on them? I couldn’t.

With PP they didn't show it, diverted the cameras to a piper

Ok, I'm a mess now. That passage from Revelation always ends me...

Me too.
Glorious, as is the music.

Queen Margrethe of Denmark is definitely there.

CP Frederick too, but not CP Mary I don't think

King Fillipe Of Spain

King of Netherlands

Qwerkie · 19/09/2022 16:35

The beautiful Fell pony with her empty saddle made me cry like anything. She must have brought so much pleasure to the Queen especially as she got older

TheChemicalsAintGotYouBaby · 19/09/2022 16:35

The Lord's Prayer just said "IN earth as it is in heaven" - is that right?

I've spent 49+ years saying "on"! Oops

ShirleyJackson · 19/09/2022 16:35

I think William Harris taught the Queen to play piano when she was a girl.

He and his daughters gave her those corgis - probably on the understanding that they would look after them after she was gone - because that was, evidently, her only reason for not getting more.

urgen · 19/09/2022 16:35

Somewhat composed!,, They have managed to not burst into tears although I suspect there is a lot of lip biting and nails in hands.

PizzaFunghi · 19/09/2022 16:36

wording of the Lord's Prayer varies according to chapels. Some are 'in' and some are 'on'. Other changes as well. 'forgive them' or 'forgive those' etc.

PlacidPenelope · 19/09/2022 16:36

This is a much more intimate and heart rending service.
