I wish they had! Although I’m now blubbing at the idea of my dog being stood there for me

They did, you must have missed them!

If it is like Prince Philip's funeral the coffin is lowered into the vault below automatically.

Possibly, i noticed there were some weird square panels on top of the plinth, now under the coffin

Suzi888 · 19/09/2022 16:29

A very sad and momentous occasion, perfectly executed.

watcherintherye · 19/09/2022 16:29

Although the State Funeral was magnificent, I’m finding this service and the preceding procession much more affecting. Perhaps because she’s been brought home?

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 16:29

Anyone spotted any foreign royal families?

LIZS · 19/09/2022 16:29

Was that Peter Phillips' elder daughter I glimpsed?

They did bring out the dogs.

Been trying to see if there's information about ths pall bearers.

So far all I've found is one of them is only 19!

(I've not done a lot of searching yet!)

All service people involved in the funeral have been embargoed from Social media and the press until after the funeral. Hopefully they will get their names in lights before they go back to Iraq.

urgen · 19/09/2022 16:30

So the coffin will be lowered in the next 15 mins? In front of the whole world?

I'm not surprised actually. With the weight of a lead lined coffin and all the time plus stairs, I'm sure the very youngest and fittest were chosen.

I've not found out anything either. I think one was 21 and from Fiji but that might have been one of the bearers in Scotland.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 19/09/2022 16:30

Where they are lowered to, can the family lay flowers there or not? Is it sealed?

they did - as they came into the castle, we got a shot of the dogs with footmen (spotted the bottom of the red jacket)

Yes, like Philip's

Is Fergie at this bit?

Thought I saw her sitting behind Princess of Wales at Westminster?

The family can go there.

Singleandproud · 19/09/2022 16:30

When the clergy man was holding the paper he was reading from his hands were shaking so much. I'm sure this is very emotional for him and he must have had a close relationship with the Queen being based at Windsor.

Yes, but it’s not into her final resting place. She will be moved again, and there’s a private service for that. Not until 7.30pm, such a long day for the Royals.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 19/09/2022 16:31

Ok, I'm a mess now. That passage from Revelation always ends me...

Do all the guards live in barracks or do they go home to their partners?

Depends if they're married or not. They were up here, Norfolk, in Summer for their Summer camp just after the Jubilee. I keep wondering if I stroked the nose of one of the horses who're now on parade!

sausage767 · 19/09/2022 16:32

I wonder when the Queen and Philip are moved to the King George Chapel? Whether it is during the service tonight? I don’t think we need to know all the details but it’s interesting. I wonder if they’ll move Philips coffin up and they’ll lie side by side during the family service?

RoachTheHorse · 19/09/2022 16:32

I had a bit of a break from watching before the committal. This must be such an exhausting and emotionally draining day for her family.

Some will live in married quarters, some in barracks. I expect they have all been living in wellington Barracks for the past 10 days. Although the Queens Conpany are currently deployed in Iraq and returned for this duty.

Jellykat · 19/09/2022 16:32

I heard on the radio, the Corgis are going to live with Andrew, poor things.. sorry to deliver that info at this time.

She was definitely at WM she was at the back of the precession.

urgen · 19/09/2022 16:32

How can the children and grandchildren cope with seeing the coffin lowered with the eyes of the world on them? I couldn’t.
