I too have been very impressed by the bearer party. Their mums must be so proud !

Absolutely!

moonypadfootprongs · 19/09/2022 16:20

Harry and Megan are sat with William and family this time.

MinglingFlamingo · 19/09/2022 16:20

moonypadfootprongs · 19/09/2022 16:18

The older of the great grandchildren look like they might be there. Peter's girls and Mia Tindal.

Yeah I think possibly Zara's children are sat next to her.

lordloveadog · 19/09/2022 16:20

Camilla looks tired and overwhelmed now. This is a very long day.

urgen · 19/09/2022 16:20

Yes, it’s more moving. Maybe because she is now coming home to be with her beloved Philip and her family. They weren’t perfect but the world has lost the last of a great monarch. We won’t see her like again.

Paddington Bear, James Bond. She clearly didn’t have an issue surprising us.

Piccalino3 · 19/09/2022 16:20

The bearer party were magnificent. I have been thinking of them often. An honour and a duty. This for me is the saddest part

Northernlurker · 19/09/2022 16:20

The bearers were marvellous, so composed. They did her proud.

Whyismycatanasshat · 19/09/2022 16:20

The bearers have been utterly magnificent; I am in awe.

We will never see the likes of this again will we.

I know KC3 is an older man now and lifespan is a limited thing but he isn’t The Queen is he. I don’t think that makes the point I’m aiming for!

NashvilleQueen · 19/09/2022 16:20

Black Rod was last to see HMQ lying in state and was visibly upset. Is that what you mean?

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 16:20

The brass plaques on the walls behind the choir stalls are for past knights of the garter.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 19/09/2022 16:20

@MrsFezziwig a friend and I went to Windsor last summer, when it was open but obvs a lot of people weren't out and about much. She works in the royal household, so gets us in free. 😁It's very imposing, and that day was even more so without the usual crowds.

PugInTheHouse · 19/09/2022 16:20

@urgen I think I needed a proper cry actually, being typically British holding it in all day. Dogs are just incredible companions and I don't believe anyone who suggests they don't have feelings.

BruceAndNosh · 19/09/2022 16:20

It looks very bright here but the Quire where coffin is actually quite dark usually without all the additional lighting

Singleandproud · 19/09/2022 16:20

Imagine the difference to today had she passed during lock down which was a real high possibility. I'm so glad she's had a proper send off.

Pumpkintopf · 19/09/2022 16:21

The singing is beautiful

Perher · 19/09/2022 16:21

Who is that chap and what was he doing?

PlacidPenelope · 19/09/2022 16:21

JudgeJ · 19/09/2022 16:14

That's what I thought, unlike Churchill who was massive, there were similar steps at St Pauls and they were icy!

I think disaster was narrowly averted at Churchill's funeral going up the steps.

Vapeyvapevape · 19/09/2022 16:21

This morning was sad but this is so much more emotional.

Another poster mentioned black rod had set her off, I see it meant this

Was that on purpose that black rod was the last person?

Hebditch · 19/09/2022 16:21

unscrewing the orb and sceptre etc

When they first went into where the coffin now sits, I pictured her during Prince Philips funeral all alone.

TokyoSushi · 19/09/2022 16:21

Chris Ship from ITV reported yesterday that Camilla has done this whole week with a broken toe.

Perher · 19/09/2022 16:21

It must be very difficult for William thinking that the next time he does this, it will be because his father has died.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 19/09/2022 16:21

Oh god. Crown's off! Sad

LIZS · 19/09/2022 16:22

Perher · 19/09/2022 16:21

Loosening the crown etc we think
