Just thinking of the difference between this and Prince Philip’s service here

Jellykat · 19/09/2022 16:17

Quiet applause for the bearers

TokyoSushi · 19/09/2022 16:18

Oh those boys (and they aren't much more than boys) have been incredible!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 19/09/2022 16:18

Windsor is much more beautiful and personal.

I Camilla meant to walk behind Charles? She's only just managing it.

We were all rooting for the bearers! Agree they deserve a medal... am I being ott?

I was thinking earlier that I wondered if everyone involved in this will get some kind of commemorative medal they can wear on their uniforms.

The pall bearers have been phenomenal- they have the scariest job of it all 🤣

Singleandproud · 19/09/2022 16:18

The sight of that full Chapel when the Queen had to sit alone for Philip.

Monkeytennis97 · 19/09/2022 16:18

Seeing the chapel from above just made me think of the Queen sat alone at the Duke's funeral.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 19/09/2022 16:18

Just remembering the last time we saw the Queen in those choir stalls - alone in a mask and mourning her husband.

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 19/09/2022 16:18

Those lads did so well. What a lot of pressure on them to get lifting/carrying the coffin right!

moonypadfootprongs · 19/09/2022 16:18

The older of the great grandchildren look like they might be there. Peter's girls and Mia Tindal.

JustLyra · 19/09/2022 16:18

PizzaFunghi · 19/09/2022 16:16

oh I think I just saw the children, so I guess they are. I wonder about the other great grandchildren, the older ones at least

Savannah, Isla and Mia are with Zara

MinglingFlamingo · 19/09/2022 16:18

👏 👏 👏 well done Bearing Party you did it and were magnificent

NashvilleQueen · 19/09/2022 16:18

The care and dedication of the bearer party gets me every time. What an honour but what a duty.

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 16:19

There's a vault below this chapel where her parents, husband and sister are interred. Where she will be laid to rest.

The flags in the chapel are for each of the knights of the garter and bear their personal arms.

excelledyourself · 19/09/2022 16:19

Well done lads 👏

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 19/09/2022 16:19

Quietly applauding the bearer party; such a honour but they must have been absolutely beside themselves with tension. Job well done.

morningtoncrescent62 · 19/09/2022 16:19

Bravo, bearer boys. That's a story to tell your grandchildren some day.

CaveMum · 19/09/2022 16:19

The choir is going to finish me off 😫

Trulyweird1 · 19/09/2022 16:19

I too have been very impressed by the bearer party. Their mums must be so proud !

Me too. Especially when they move the Standard for some reason. Sad

The pall bearers are amazing

They really are !

RedToothBrush · 19/09/2022 16:19

Go home and have a beer lads. You deserve it.

bellac11 · 19/09/2022 16:19

What happened this morning with black rod?

maranella · 19/09/2022 16:19

JanePrentiss · 19/09/2022 16:17

This service is beautiful, but Charles looks drained.

I imagine that the days since the Queen died have been extremely taxing for him. He's a 73-year-old man and apart from one day he's been on show, dressed up and taking part in very emotional things very day. I bet he's utterly exhausted. And that long walk with the coffin! My goodness, it went on and on. Everyone who took part, particularly those pulling the carriage, deserve a medal. What an incredible feat they pulled off. So impressive. I hope they all get a bit of downtime now to rest and sleep and recharge.

Perher · 19/09/2022 16:19

Do we know who the magnificent pall bearers were?
