The singing is spine tingling. This seems much more moving and personal than Westminster this morning.

I think there will be quite a bit of press coverage about the pall bearers over the next few days.

I hope so. They've been brilliant

Benefi · 19/09/2022 16:15

Just imagine… the coffin hurtles down and takes out Charles.. 😳

Yes, that's exactly what everyone should be imagining. 🙄

There have been some ridiculous posts on here today.

TokyoSushi · 19/09/2022 16:15

The coffin looks so colourful in here amongst all the black, a bit like the Queen.

PizzaFunghi · 19/09/2022 16:15

are the chidlren here for this part of it again?

Superduper02 · 19/09/2022 16:15

We were all rooting for the bearers! Agree they deserve a medal... am I being ott?

LauraSaidIShouldBeNicer · 19/09/2022 16:15

Wow I was worried about those steps! What amazing young men!

Just wondering if you could visit. Thank you!

State and semi state rooms are well worth it, esp Semi State which were redecorated after the fire.

urgen · 19/09/2022 16:15

Sausage-stop it! I thought that too btw!!

PugInTheHouse · 19/09/2022 16:15

@MrsDanversGlidesAgain that's so sad. I genuinely think animals pine, my friend had 2 cats and the 1 one left behind when the other died just sat staring out of the window looking for the other one until she eventually passed away.

@PlacidPenelope yes I think you're right there.

red4321 · 19/09/2022 16:15

Asking in a non-critical way but what is the protocol for walking behind the coffin (sorry if it's been asked already)?

Princess Anne is in the group but not Zara, Eugenie or Beatrice. Peter is also, so I guess it's not just Charles' children?

PizzaFunghi · 19/09/2022 16:16

oh I think I just saw the children, so I guess they are. I wonder about the other great grandchildren, the older ones at least

RedToothBrush · 19/09/2022 16:16

DH was joking about the exact same thing!

morningtoncrescent62 · 19/09/2022 16:16

This feels so much more intimate than the splendour of Westminster Abbey.

ThunderstomsAreComing · 19/09/2022 16:16

imagine having to go through your mother's funeral twice ... I've been to a few where there has been a big church funeral service then the family peel off to the crematorium, but that last bit is short and private - this is so public.

BornBlonde · 19/09/2022 16:16

This is so emotional. Cannot imagine what the family and loved ones must be feeling. A magnificent send off for HMQ, every person involved should feel so proud

Perher · 19/09/2022 16:16

Ah the children are here, that must have been a late decision. Perhaps because they did so well earlier today.

powershowerforanhour · 19/09/2022 16:16

Are they televising the whole thing? I thought they would switch the cameras off and leave the family alone for this service.

PizzaFunghi · 19/09/2022 16:16

not just twice - they've been doing ceremonies like this all week!! Must be so hard.

RedToothBrush · 19/09/2022 16:16

Superduper02 · 19/09/2022 16:15

No.

Rowgtfc72 · 19/09/2022 16:17

This is it. She's home.

Black Rod got me this morning and the pony and corgis have got me now.

They're having another service in private at 7.30 too

JanePrentiss · 19/09/2022 16:17

This service is beautiful, but Charles looks drained.

CaveMum · 19/09/2022 16:17

Visitor page for Windsor Castle, though obviously everything is closed for mourning at the moment.

SoupDragon · 19/09/2022 16:17

And that's job done by the Bearer party.
