This is a real good guide for all the timings for tomorrow - www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60617519

The bit at the end with the Lord Chamberlain will be the hardest to watch I think, signaling the end of his service to her, as will the act of separating her from her crown.

I know everyone isn't a royalist but today will be such a sad occasion.

Is it the same bearer party today as the ones who Carried her into Westminster hall a few days ago?

Yep same group of lads. The blond lad second from back on the left of the coffin was really struggling at the end. You could see sweat pouring down his face and he was starting to actively shake.

I hope they been able to sneak off for a drink and food before round 2 cos they look like they need it and a rest.

Wonder what all the foreign dignitaries make of this.

That piece of paper was make significantly worse by the camera zoom at the same time which looked like it was focused on the paper not the flowers. Most unfortunate.

Ive two friends from the BBC doing the broadcast today. They are totally shattered. Being doing tonnes of overtime and loads of last minute changes of plan. Unlike a wedding or coronation, you can't plan and prepare in the same way. Edinburgh also threw a huge spanner in the works

I do find it hard to believe in Liz, unfortunately. I suspect she doesn't really know whither to goest at the mo.

Is there a standard structure to Christian funerals? I've never been to one, just trying to understand.

The sentences that were sung as they came in are usually said or sung 'I am the resurrection' and so on. Prayers and hymns and some sort of sermon or talk. The crucial point is what was in the first reading - death where is thy sting? Christ defeated death on the cross so whilst Christians mourn we also recognise that death is not the end. In fact it's the beginning.

jackstini · 19/09/2022 11:24

Well done Liz - difficult job and she was clear and dignified

SleepingStandingUp · 19/09/2022 11:25

Why is Harry being Charles not on the route with William and Co?

LetMeSpeak · 19/09/2022 11:25

Well it could’ve been Boris I guess.

the80sweregreat · 19/09/2022 11:25

Liz didn't do too badly there.
It Must be nerve wracking

Foldingchair · 19/09/2022 11:25

Definitely not a Boris fan, but I do think he'd have read it better. The bumbling was an act.

Bet he's gutted, gutted, that he didn't get to have his moment.

You are belittling those that don't find it sad by suggesting they don't have respect and a sense of decency. I don't find it sad that someone lived a full life. Death is a natural process and comes to us all. I've made no belittling comments but you have.

I agree. Its sad for her family of course but the death of a 96 year old lady who lived a full, happy life surrounded by her family right until the end is not tragic. Its blessed. That we should all be so lucky as this. I lost my mother in my 20s and she never met my children- her grandchildren.

elizaregina · 19/09/2022 11:25

Incredible shot of crown just then! With. Sprig of rosemary by it

DriftingDora · 19/09/2022 11:25

The music and singing is just superb. And she would probably have loved the dropped piece of paper and the spider on the flowers!

dudsville · 19/09/2022 11:25

bellac11 · 19/09/2022 11:23

I wouldnt want to read out passages with thees and hath, thy, its difficult to say

😁 we were just saying the same thing, and the weird sentence structures. You would really need to rehearse!

FoolishMortals · 19/09/2022 11:22

Watching Liz and said to DH, "she's doing a really good job with that reading... can you imagine Boris rambling through that?"

I feel for Liz too - she's had a hard first 2 weeks in the job!

Lovely reading though

I thought she read beautifully; realising that today is not about her, but HM. Boris is perhaps too much of a showman to have reined it in if he had still been PM and therefore reading.

Pyjamagame · 19/09/2022 11:25

This hymn always has me in floods.

He had his moment with covid and lockdowns and he fucked it!

rocketfromthecrypt · 19/09/2022 11:25

The card says 'in loving and devoted memory', I think. I believe it's Charles's writing.

LetMeSpeak · 19/09/2022 11:26

I couldn’t imagine a human as sinful as Boris reading a scripture from the Holy Bible.

Abracadabra12345 · 19/09/2022 11:26

Wish the Bible translation used wasn’t King James with all the ye”s and “cometh”s, makes it seem so far removed

Bunnycat101 · 19/09/2022 11:26

I imagine Liz T was practicing that a lot. For someone who isn’t overly comfortable with public speaking, this has been a hell of a baptism of fire for her.

MarshaBradyo · 19/09/2022 11:26

A reading doesn’t need oomph and waffle

She did it well, I was unnecessarily nervous for her - a reading is no issue

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 19/09/2022 11:26

Edinburgh also threw a huge spanner in the works

What do you mean?

AnneShirleysNewDress · 19/09/2022 11:26

@SleepingStandingUp Age I guess, Peter and Zara are both older.

JustLyra · 19/09/2022 11:26

SleepingStandingUp · 19/09/2022 11:25

Why is Harry being Charles not on the route with William and Co?

The three grandchildren on the front row - William, Peter and Zara - are the three eldest.

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2022 11:27

Boris would actually have read beautifully.

This hymn always has me in floods.

I managed to sing along, I love that hymn.
