I've been finding this mesmerising so thought I'd create a dedicated thread.
Saw Justin Trudeau and his wife pass through earlier.

Personally I'm rather liking looking at thousands of ordinary people as opposed to 'reality stars'.

And the veterans ... that's really emotional, kind of guessing at their stories. The veteran who saluted twice - was the 2nd salute for a fallen comrade, a mate? The veteran who was looked at tearfully by a woman while he saluted, whom he may have met in the The Queue - or was it his wife giving him some space, and they'll hug once they are outside?

These are real human stories for a change, not the ghastly Kardashians.

Northernlurker · 17/09/2022 18:59

There is no way Edward and Sophie would have let the kids do that unless they wanted to. I think they will be really proud in years to come to remember it. I found it really moving to see them as a team as it were.

toomuchlaundry · 17/09/2022 19:05

@BMW6 they were watching by the viewing platform the vigil by King Charles etc last night, so they would have an idea of what it felt like

VaginaRegina · 17/09/2022 19:17

It must have been very hard for James and Louise. Harder for all the non-William, non-Harry lot, because W&H's caps did obscure their eyes to a large extent. The others were all very exposed.

Watapalava · 17/09/2022 19:25

Just caught this for the first time

so moving

except for the screaming baby in the background

who in earth takes a baby

Zosime · 17/09/2022 19:29

There have been quite a few babies, but this is the first time I've heard one really making a noise. (Obviously I haven't been watching 24/7) Other times there's just been a bit of babbling or cooing. The other day there was a really happy smiley baby in pink being carried through; the camera focused on her (I assume) for quite a while.

Have seen the odd baby going past. Wondering who in their right mind would do that?!?

Notplayingball · 17/09/2022 20:00

DH rolls his eyes as soon as I pop on livestream now. He is fed up of it🙄😂

CTPT · 17/09/2022 20:01

What are we all going to do when the livestream ends!?

It has really been quite mesmerising!

JaneJeffer · 17/09/2022 20:01

Are the women with babies allowed to fast track? I saw a very pregnant woman wearing a light dress and high heels. Surely she hasn't been queuing for hours?

I wouldn't have thought so unless they had accessibility issues or were VIPs

JaneJeffer · 17/09/2022 20:02

@CTPT go back and watch it all on YouTube Grin

ElephantsintheCupboard · 17/09/2022 20:04

I think it's intrusive.

That would really annoy me if i’d queued for many hours to have the silence torn asunder by a bawling baby.
Leave them outside with someone- Screams really echo in Halls like that, so a few hundred people’s experience was marred by a thoughtless parent.
A baby in a pushchair will probably be uncomfortable after a few hours-
I don’t blame the baby, but the thoughtless parent dragging a young child along.
Can’t find a minder?
Don’t go.

JaneJeffer · 17/09/2022 20:08

Oh give over @oakleaffy

Parent had probably brought food and nappies.

We were in a café yesterday with various well behaved dogs in there, being quiet and unobtrusive, but a loud Schnauzer was in there and it’s shrill hideous yaps actually hurt the ears of other customers.
The owner was oblivious to hard stares and “Shhhh”
Each time it yapped, it got given cake.
The minority ruining it for the majority.

Ryder68 · 17/09/2022 20:20

I keep hearing an eerie noise on it now, like wind blowing round buildings. Could it be?

Notplayingball · 17/09/2022 20:25

Loved those orange feathers in the hat the woman was wearing. Beautiful 😍

MeanderingGently · 17/09/2022 20:25

I absolutely love the livestream, I've had it on almost constantly. I even have it on the TV in my bedroom and I go to sleep with it. I shall really, really miss it when it finishes! Best bit of the TV coverage....

elizaregina · 17/09/2022 20:32

It's weird how we have the scene's within the hall which are emotionally moving,
And then we have The Queue.

It's strange how her death is now majorly focused around the queue.

William did a grand job earlier meeting and greeting the queue..
He was cracking jokes and it was nice to see a lighter side of him to be honest.
However I also felt it was incongruous, him walking the line like a TV warm the crowd up act and the act is queen Elizabeth ii coffin??

I don't blame him at all and I'm sure the que ers were very grateful to see him...it just all seems so odd!!
The queue the queue.

puffylovett · 17/09/2022 20:32

I’ve also been completely absorbed in n it. I saw Theresa may and her husband go through, she looked so emotional as she paid her respects. There seems to me a little marked difference between her and Liz Truss in their reactions.

Zosime · 17/09/2022 20:59

I'm not particularly a fan of either of them, but I would point out that Liz Truss has been 'on duty' every time we've seen her. TM was there in a private capacity.

Notplayingball · 17/09/2022 21:11

Was laughing a bit seeing the woman whip out her binoculars to get a better view as she paid her respects. Wasn't expecting that 😂

PPPPlease · 17/09/2022 21:13

I just saw on TT that a man ran at the coffin last night! I googled and it’s reported everywhere but the BBC news, did anyone see that at the time?

vm.tiktok.com/ZMFJk63ds/

The grandchildren were very moving, I was a blubbering mess at my DGMs funeral last year, I certainly couldn’t have coped with the eyes of the world on me even though I’m an adult. Sophie looked very tired I thought, I’m sure they will all be glad when Monday is over and they can retreat and have some privacy and rest.

Horcruxe · 17/09/2022 21:16

Those candles that are burning.

Have they been the same ones since the start or do they put up new ones?
