I've been finding this mesmerising so thought I'd create a dedicated thread.
Saw Justin Trudeau and his wife pass through earlier.

The look on Sophie's face watching her children do this 😟 I really hope James was given a choice

You would have thought so..

JaneJeffer · 17/09/2022 18:17

Did Zara lose a shoe?

toomuchlaundry · 17/09/2022 18:18

They have said they all chose to do it, and I am sure Sophie would only have let them do it if they wanted to. She and Edward have protected them over the years

Did Zara lose a shoe?

Yes just saw that, thought they looked a bit big! She had a little laugh, bless her.

CaptainBarbosa · 17/09/2022 18:18

I feel so moved when I see Sophie.

It's genuine grief, worry and stress you see in her.

Grieving for her majesty, worry for her children on a global stage and just the sheer stress of it all.

I think she's a remarkable woman. I really do. 😳

flapjackfairy · 17/09/2022 18:19

Aw they all did their grandmother proud !

I thought perhaps her foot had gone to sleep as she was walking slightly awkwardly.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 17/09/2022 18:22

James or Viscount Severn is 14.

He looks a boy amongst men on those steps, bless him.

Buttons294749 · 17/09/2022 18:23

I cant stop watching, it's strangely riveting

Jellywobblescobbles · 17/09/2022 18:25

That was so moving. They all looked wonderful especially Beatrice I thought. They did their grannie proud.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 17/09/2022 18:25

poor sophie, her children were in prime positions werent they

toobusytothink · 17/09/2022 18:25

Anyone know who else is on the balcony with Edward and Sophie? The young girls with dark hair?

Willbe2under2 · 17/09/2022 18:25

Oh my heart broke watching that. I don't know how any of them kept their composure. Edward and Sophie especially should be proud of their two standing up with their older cousins like that after being (rightly) kept out of the lime light 💔

angstridden2 · 17/09/2022 18:26

Is it just me or do others think this was really intrusive? I assumed the Hall would be closed while the grandchildren were watching over their grandmother. It became a ‘look at the young royals’ moment. Just felt wrong.

Buttons294749 · 17/09/2022 18:27

I actually have a question - why is a guard banging a sword every now and then?

Antarcticant · 17/09/2022 18:28

It's a signal for the guard changes and was also used to signal the duration of the royal vigil.

Buttons294749 · 17/09/2022 18:32

Thanks!

CPL593H · 17/09/2022 18:33

Seeing James Severn and Harry in the same shot made me well up. Memories.

I wasn't comfortable about that. I thought they'd at least decrease the flow of people past the younger ones.

Do you think in the coming weeks there'll be support groups set up for those of us suffering from mourn porn withdrawal?

I am enjoying the fact that several of you are hooked. There are plenty of shop windows with pictures of the Queen in them, as there were for the Jubilee. Today Morrisons had a little table with her pic and a small vase with flowers in it. I think they should all keep those going for a month, not dismantle them on Tuesday. That would ease us along while we get back to Truss v Starmer and normal TV programmes.
Must try to find time for some gardening tomorrow. For some reason Monday's out.

oakleaffy · 17/09/2022 18:53

I too thought that.
When one is even doing “ Two Minute” Silence ( Remembrance Sunday ) one goes into a meditative state-
A Fifteen minute silence would be very dream like as to where thoughts go remembering their Grandmother.

BMW6 · 17/09/2022 18:57

I think it's a wonderful testament to their love of their Grandmother that they wanted to do that knowing the Public would be filing past.

I imagine they watched earlier footage to prepare themselves and knew exactly what to expect.

Very well done
