What's the temperature inside your house right now?

Our heating is controlled by Hive and our thermostat is in our hall and it's showing as 16.9 degrees. The two living room radiators are 15.7 and 16.2 but bizarrely it doesn't actually feel that cold to me so the heating isn't on.

What's the temperature in your house right now and is your heating on?

Well I've given in and my heating has come on this morning, but the living room is showing as 13.3⁰ and the bedroom is 14.2⁰ so I'm not being soft! According to the BBC weather app it's currently 5⁰ outside 🥶

17.7 inside and 3 outside!

EspeciallyDivided · 17/09/2022 07:59

Ours has come on this morning too, we have the thermostat at 13° overnight and 18° from 7am on Saturdays. 5° outside and a beautiful crisp sunny morning.

Cervinia · 17/09/2022 08:28

I was frozen last night, we were under blankets but we had the fire on. Woke up this morning all toasty, DH had out the heating in at 5 for an hour. I would t have, but I have to admit that hour warmed the house up. The thermostat says 17.7 and it doesn’t feel that cold.

Cervinia · 17/09/2022 08:29

It’s sunny outside, my washing is already on the line, I’m hopefully it mostly dries then just needs airing.

KittyCatsby · 17/09/2022 08:33

My dh has just told me it's 14.5 , it's still lovely and warm in bed so a good excuse to stay in bed , I'll let him put the coffee on !

ifonly4 · 17/09/2022 08:33

Digital thermometer says it's 18.4c in lounge, north facing but sun now on side window. Have got my summer pjs on so a bit nippy, but will hoover soon and do an online exercise class, by which time the sun will have started to warm house up - I guess to 20c.

Ditto. Good drying day hopefully.

Just checked thermostat. 17 degrees inside.
Digging out winter duvet this weekend. 4 tog isn't quite cutting it now.

Alucadekena · 17/09/2022 08:36

Thermostat says 20 degrees it is in the hall. I currently have the bedroom window open as I always do when I wake up because I love the fresh air. We are in Yorkshire, outside temperature right now is 8 degrees but "feels like" 6.

We will layer up before the heating goes on but we still have summer duvets on so 4.5 togs. Our house is very insulated and we benefit from solar gain. I usually swap to winter duvets in October half term but will put them on before that if it starts to feel chilly.

Snap! Ours is 17.7 too ! ... but didn't have the heating on at 5am. There are dogs and cats all around me in the kitchen though - so I guess they are giving off some heat to the air Wink

MinervaTerrathorn · 17/09/2022 09:40

15 in my sitting room. Door has been open and kitchen window when I was cooking breakfast. Switched quilts from 4 to 7.5 tog.

ninja · 17/09/2022 19:51

15 in the hallway - feels fine though (saying that I've been outside all day so probably acclimatised.

ninja · 17/09/2022 19:52

Saying that I'm still sleeping under sheet and bed cover which might have to change soon - I'm not a warm person but I am 'that age!'

MarshaBradyo · 17/09/2022 19:52

Still 21.4 here no heating

ifonly4 · 17/09/2022 19:59

Exactly 20c on digital themometer in the lounge. Barometer in hall looks around 20.5c. Our thermostat is in hall and we set heating to 18-18.5c, so it wouldn't come on, so no point in setting it yet.

Whatthetrolley · 17/09/2022 20:18

19.5, thermostat is set for 20 degrees, however it's currently switched off. So sat under a blanket instead!

Lovegossip · 17/09/2022 20:24

No idea but as it is still warm I have the windows open, heating won't be coming on at all

Londdann · 17/09/2022 20:29

We have the fire on, it’s a bit chilly in the house

vinoandbrie · 17/09/2022 23:17

18.9 in the hall, but it’s toasty in the room I’m in as I’ve lit a log burner - first time this season, loving it!

Trytoavoidthebastardbus · 18/09/2022 09:23

i put the heating on for an hour last night and it came on at 17 so I’m guessing the temp was about 16, I knew the forecast was a low of 6 last night.

Decafflatteplease · 27/09/2022 11:06

16.4 right now. Im cold. Got normal socks, thermal socks, slipper boots. Thermal leggings, DH thick joggers on top, vestz long sleeve top, oodie style hoodie with hood up and a scarf.

ApolloandDaphne · 27/09/2022 12:11

It's very cold today so I have put the heating on for a little while.

Caspianberg · 27/09/2022 12:37

It’s cold today. 16/17 indoors, 10 outside, but was 2 overnight.
We all have colds. Heating on briefly am and pm an hour or so.

TwinkleChristmas · 27/09/2022 13:41

18.8 at the moment here. I don’t feel cold but have a long sleeve top on.

andtheweedonkey · 27/09/2022 13:54

20.2
DH was out this morning, so I cranked it up.
When the money's gone, it's gone.
