What's the temperature inside your house right now?

Our heating is controlled by Hive and our thermostat is in our hall and it's showing as 16.9 degrees. The two living room radiators are 15.7 and 16.2 but bizarrely it doesn't actually feel that cold to me so the heating isn't on.

What's the temperature in your house right now and is your heating on?

Take it the 20s are more southern. Does this mean northerners are going to pay more for fuel than southerners then?

Well it’s generally colder in the north of the country than in the south

Electriq · 15/09/2022 22:02

22c but had oven on for baked potatoes today

Frlrlrubert · 15/09/2022 22:03

18.5 downstairs (patio door has been opened and closed for the dogs) 21 in my bedroom (window open about an inch). 19 in the bedrooms on the North side. No heating. 12 outside.

Lochjeda · 15/09/2022 22:03

Iv no idea as we don't have a thermostat that says the temperature but I'm just wearing jeans and a hoodie, no socks and I'm fine. Defo don't need the heating on. My sons under a blanket and cosy he said. Its 1 degrees outside just now.

Trytoavoidthebastardbus · 15/09/2022 22:04

No idea but it’s definitely too early for the heating to be on (had most of the windows open all day)

whereareyousleep · 15/09/2022 22:04

20.4° inside 13° outside. Our hive exaggerates though I reckon it's generally 1-2° colder than what it says. I feel cool tonight and am laid under a blanket though to be fair I have bare arms. Heating is still firmly switched off it is getting much cooler on school run though!

Iateallthechocolate · 15/09/2022 22:04
  1. No heating on. We won't need heating until November usually. Its awful in a heatwave though, if we are off work, we go out
orangeisthenewpuce · 15/09/2022 22:06

19.7 with no heating on. I'm warm. Have 2 windows open in the bedroom.

Breakfastisjustporridge · 15/09/2022 22:07

Don't know. No heating on, got windows open and I am wearing Tshirt.

Chakraleaf · 15/09/2022 22:11

I can't believe people have heating on!!!

sunshineandsuddenshowers · 15/09/2022 22:12

21 here. No heating.

AnyFucker · 15/09/2022 22:12

My electric blanket is back in service 😊

Muststopeating · 15/09/2022 22:14

Scotlsnd. Outside temp is 9C. Coldest part of house (old mill), where I am currently sat under a heated blanket is 15.7C.

Warmest part of house (new kitchen extension with triple glazing and mega insulation) is 18.5C (but got up to 20C earlier).

I have been a bit chilly today but will I feck turn the heating on before October, layered up instead.

Ironic really as I only shut my bedroom window this morning, up til now I've mostly been too hot.

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/09/2022 22:15

21.2. Defo getting colder too. Will be turning the heating on tomorrow if it’s chilly

Rockingcloggs · 15/09/2022 22:16

No idea!! But I'm comfortable! All upstairs windows are fully open and I don't usually put the heating on until mid November. I hate being warm! It's really not cold! I'm in Yorkshire!

SilentBob · 15/09/2022 22:17

Outside 13°, inside 18°

No heating on.

I have just walked in from work. I'm a chef in a small kitchen with no windows or doors. I'm sat by the patio doors. With them open. I.need.cold.air!

Narcheska · 15/09/2022 22:18

Grow egg says it’s 21.4 in our bedroom. Windows are open and fan is on! Feels boiling.

we won’t put the heating on before November. House has to be 15 for it to come on and even then blankets and jumpers first! It triggers my migraines so I avoid it until very necessary. Also the children and I don’t seem to get cold which helps. Hate being too hot

vinoandbrie · 15/09/2022 22:18

19.2, heat not on. My feet feel cold under the duvet.

Sooverthisnow · 15/09/2022 22:22

No idea. Log burner is on and it’s toasty in the living room. When we go to bed we open the door to let the heat to the rest of the house. Temperature outside is 9c.
We have windows which allow heat from sunlight in and not out, plus good insulation.
Also the black stone worktop in our south facing kitchen, which is not in fashion anymore, acts as a heat trap on sunny days, and keeps the kitchen warm in the evening. We were going to update it for a white one but not anymore!

TwinkleChristmas · 15/09/2022 22:23

20.4 and Iv had the back door open all day for the puppy

cinnabongene · 15/09/2022 22:26

20.6 but feels colder. Today feels like the first day of autumn. We’re just outside London

Whatthetrolley · 15/09/2022 22:26

21.5, feeling a little chilly so sat under a blanket. Just moved the draught excluder to the door so that should help. No heating on.

BowiesJumper · 15/09/2022 22:27

20, and all the windows are open (I like it fresh!). SW London. Obviously no heating on!

FingersofFish · 15/09/2022 22:27

17.8⁰ in our bedroom. No heating in Sept!

comfortablyfrumpy · 15/09/2022 22:29

Thermostat says 20.5, but it feels much colder.

Heating off

I am getting my winter duvet out tomorrow - might put the electric blanket on too for good measure
