What's the temperature inside your house right now?

Our heating is controlled by Hive and our thermostat is in our hall and it's showing as 16.9 degrees. The two living room radiators are 15.7 and 16.2 but bizarrely it doesn't actually feel that cold to me so the heating isn't on.

What's the temperature in your house right now and is your heating on?

It's interesting to see the differences in temperature and depressing that mine is significantly colder than the majority 😞

I have to say I'm reluctant to put the heating on as I think once it goes on it's likely to then be on until spring so the longer we can hold out for the better!

No idea but I'm still sleeping under an empty duvet cover so must be quite warm. I have some windows open all the time and the back door during the day. Hoping not to put the heat in til November if possible (I'm not a martyr though so will put it in if it gets cold enough).

Bpdqueen · 15/09/2022 21:50

Mines showing 22.5 and have shorts on and the fan going im boiling

Logoplanter · 15/09/2022 21:50

I've moved upstairs now to where it's a balmy 17.7 degrees!

1ofeach2 · 15/09/2022 21:52

ButyouwereuptoyouroldtricksinChaptersFourFiveandSix · 15/09/2022 21:53

Shergill15 · 15/09/2022 21:54
  1. Heating isn't on but I am wearing my oodie
PizzaFunghi · 15/09/2022 21:54

26

I can hardly cool it down and I am often feel like I'm sweltering (or is it my age?!)

It will cool down in proper winter though, specially as I have to sit near the big windows, but it takes a long time to cool down after the summer.

Huge glass windows and little cross ventilation and south and east facing, corner flat.

So electricity bills in the form of fans and an air con machine with the hose out the window, more than make up for anything we might save at this time of year

(I still don't quite understand how it can get so hot in here even on days when it's only 19 as a high. Something is heat generating!)

TheYearOfSmallThings · 15/09/2022 21:54

21 degrees and haven't had the heat on since Spring.

FreezyFreezy · 15/09/2022 21:54

21.0°C and no, it's not. It's not cold.

Minniem2020 · 15/09/2022 21:57

21 here with no heating. We're in the North East and it has been chilly going to school in the mornings but it's been lovely and sunny through the day. We have got rain now though and has got a lot cooler out.

fluffi · 15/09/2022 21:57

22C, no heating. South East. Hoping to not put heating on before Nov.

AKnitterofThings · 15/09/2022 21:58

No thermostat as no central hearing so I have no idea. It is cooler tonight but I have the bedroom window open.

NCFT0922 · 15/09/2022 21:58

20.3 here and no heating on. I’m changing to the winter duvets tomorrow while the DC are at school & nursery as the mornings are starting to feel a bit chilly.

AnyFucker · 15/09/2022 21:59

18.6 deg

When I have my heating in use it would click on at less than 19 deg but I have it switched off.

A blanket round my legs is keeping me toasty for now

Dannexe · 15/09/2022 21:59

Alexa has just told me it’s 13 degrees outside and tonight the low will be 8 degrees

TheMoth · 15/09/2022 21:59

18 and I'm fucking freezing. Warm pants, vest top, thick hoodie. Slippers instead of flip flops.Got in bed at 9.Heating isn't on, but I'm definitely feeling the cold this week.

StillWearingJeans · 15/09/2022 21:59

24.5, no heating on, windows open. Only 15 degrees outside. Far too hot in here!

Foldingchair · 15/09/2022 22:00

Take it the 20s are more southern. Does this mean northerners are going to pay more for fuel than southerners then?

MarshaBradyo · 15/09/2022 22:00

22.4 which is quite warm, no heating

Bemyclementine · 15/09/2022 22:01

Thermostat is showing 20. No heating on.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 15/09/2022 22:01

Thermostat says 22.5. No heating on, but it's a wee terrace, and we're in the south, so it's not been cold anyway.

stemthetide · 15/09/2022 22:01

18 and if it gets any chillier in the coming weeks the heating will be on, September or not.
