So the question is, would you join it? I’m just not very patient and don’t think I could do it!

I've just looked on the TV guide, and the proposed vigil coverage is set to begin at 5:45.

Wouldn't want you to wait till 7 and find you've missed it, if you want to watch it live on BBC One.

Thank you for clarifying :)

Iusedtobecarmen · 17/09/2022 15:21

I'm.laughing to myself at something that's just come into my head.Queued 12 hours thur/fri with Dc to see the Queen lying-in-state. Last night on way home and was at train station and needed a wee. Got to the toilet and said to DC "forget it, the queues too big"
The irony😀

Yes for just 15mins.

I wouldn't queue 12hours for anything, least of all a wooden box with a corpse in it.

Sorry but you need to put m and s branding on this to properly appreciate the idea.

The Queen was dedicated to Quality, Value and Service.

Its not just any coffin. Its a extra special coffin with lead lining.

And the corpse is 100% British made*.

(*kinda)

😂

how did you feel after? Legs must be like lead.

stillherenow · 17/09/2022 17:50

Grandchildren have arrived so it won't be long now . How annoying if you just leave as they come !!

PizzaFunghi · 17/09/2022 17:59

How hard that will be for the youngest grandchildren, especially James, only 14 and not used to doing public state occasions, especially without parents. And Louise too, though she's a bit more used to it I guess and a bit older.

PizzaFunghi · 17/09/2022 18:02

But the livestream doesn't seem too live - it's a minute or so behind what's being shown on tv at the moment

stillherenow · 17/09/2022 18:05

So weird how people walk past without stopping / bowing or looking!!

stillherenow · 17/09/2022 18:05

Sophie looks knackered . Or stressed

stillherenow · 17/09/2022 18:07

Dd is 14 and I think would want to do this if it was her gran and she would be ok.

It's definitely changed since the first day of the queue, when people were going in steady single file and had time to curtsy, now etc, all seems v v rushed now with 3 lines of people either side.

PizzaFunghi · 17/09/2022 18:10

I think some 14 year olds would be fine. He seems to be less comfortable in public or noisy crowds or whatever, though, from previous views of him, and doing this without his parents right there must take bravery I think. Even with his cousins around.

TeenDivided · 17/09/2022 18:11

I think a lot of people probably do their stop & bow when slightly further back and others in front are stopping and bowing. It is quite considerate really as it speeds the queue up. They just don't need to be right in front of the side in poll position.

I think there must be a slight delay incase something happens like when the guard fainted or that guy being arrested last night, so they have chance to cut it off before it's shown on the stream.

Yes I think it's brave of all of them to be honest !

TeenDivided · 17/09/2022 18:13

His parents are right there in front of him for when he looks up.

bellac11 · 17/09/2022 18:14

Who is the young blonde girl?

and the boy?

Interesting how when it was the childrens vigil Charles stood facing the entrance, but this time its Harry facing the entrance. I would have thought that William would have faced the entrance and the oncoming crowds.

Whatthetrolley · 17/09/2022 18:14

James and Louise - Prince Edward's children

PugInTheHouse · 17/09/2022 18:17

Sophie looked very emotional, must be difficult watching her children especially as they aren't in the public eye as much as the others and so young.

Whatthetrolley · 17/09/2022 18:17

I think William stood where King Charles was. The Prince of York stood where Harry was.

Mooserp · 17/09/2022 18:18

I wonder if they are asking people not to stop now? Some are whizzing past.

It must be a mixture of pride but also sadness that they have to do that.

Oh I thought it was the other way round, perhaps Im thinking of Scotland

stillherenow · 17/09/2022 18:21

14 is also a lovely age when you start to really see your child mature , I think it's quite an emotional time anyway so seeing him do that must have been quite a moment for her
