You’ve got to be pulling my leg at this stage 🤣🤣🤣

Over and out, I’m off to make a marmalade sandwich and wrap it in clingfilm 😉

Good for you! Don’t recycle either, wouldn’t want to be a hypocrite after all.

@Pumperthepumper i don’t think that poster is complaining about the use of internet, they are highlighting the hypocrisy of someone complaining about waste of food (by one sandwich) whilst using the internet to make that complaint

This this this! They were not the hypocrite!

this is an opinion and discussion site

Except it isn't a discussion, it's a few posters barking out their orders. Don't place flowers! make a charity donation! give to a food bank! then demanding to know if we recycle, getting sniffily superior about people's behaviour and generally demanding that we wear our environmentally friendly hair shirts and have no emotional responses that they can't understand because they are so effing virtuous.

I don’t think I’ve told anybody what to do or given any orders. I’ve said I think it would be better if instead of leaving things people had donated to charitable causes (opinion) but at no point have I demanded people do that. Just because I have expressed I think it’s wrong doesn’t mean it’s an order anybody has to follow. If anybody has read it as an order/ demand I think that is an issue with their comprehension and not with what I wrote. In my opinion it is wasteful and pointless and I’ve maybe not been shy in discussing that but as far as I can see at no point have I used terms like don’t/ must not/ can’t/ shouldn’t or anything else that would imply I’m trying to order anybody to do anything.

Just because leaving flowers to commemorate dead royals is a common tradition doesn’t mean it’s not time to try and suggest something a little more in keeping with modern times as a way to commemorate her instead.

It’s not just ‘dead royals’. It’s a common gesture used to mark a death of someone you may not know, but to express sympathy - often used to mark the site of a fatal accident, or a tragedy. It may not be something you (or I) might do, but it”s not just confined to Royals. People have laid flowers of graves for a very long time and this is just a version of that.

Why use electricity to argue about a pile of crap when you could be alone in the cold and dark reducing your carbon footprint. Talks about wasting energy!

Hi everyone, there are a number of posts breaking talk guidelines so we will be closing this thread temporarily to take a look behind the scenes.

My local butcher stocks ‘the’ best (independent) marmalade in existence. If you remember glacier mints and the fruit version - it tastes exactly like the orange ones.

Ooh I'd love to try this marmalade! @Cornettoninja would you mind letting me know what it's called or where I might buy it please?
