Missing 9-y-o child, Dunbar, Scotland

Posting this because it's not getting much media attention but it's a very worrying situation. Austin is only 9 and has now been missing for 20 hours and street to street searches haven't found him yet. Dunbar is a smallish town in East Lothian but it's on the A1 and East Coast Mainline and bus routes to Edinburgh and Berwick so I'm sharing in case he has travelled elsewhere. www.scotland.police.uk/what-s-happening/news/2022/september/missing-boy-dunbar/

Will share on fb, we are the other end of the country so hopefully the message will be spread widely.

Washinglinewench29 · 10/09/2022 19:21

Bump. Live close by. Fingers crossed for his safe return.

Butterflymosaic · 10/09/2022 19:28

Wish it would be reported on the news, Dunbar is on the train line so he could feasibly be somewhere else entirely!

lilaccottagegarden · 10/09/2022 19:29

That’s awful that it isn’t mentioned on the BBC homepage.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/09/2022 19:35

I didn't know anything about this until now. Come on media FFS this is a 9 year old baby who's missing. Why isn't this being shouted from the roof tops. I'm going to say whether people like it or not but a 96 year old women dying isn't the only thing that's going on in the world.
I pray little Austin is found safe and well

Sunshine9356 · 10/09/2022 19:44

Bump

ladydoris · 10/09/2022 19:53

I pay he is found safe and sound.

edel2 · 10/09/2022 19:53

Bump so more people see this

kikisparks · 10/09/2022 19:56

Oh his poor family I can’t even imagine, hope he is found safe and sound.

MichelleScarn · 10/09/2022 20:00

It's horrible, am assuming police will be tracking use of his free bus pass to see if/where has been used as he could go anywhere in Scotland for free with it. Am really hoping he's just decided to go on an adventure somewhere.

QuintessentialHedgehog · 10/09/2022 20:03

He's been found safe. It's on the local police page.

MichelleScarn · 10/09/2022 20:04

Oh that's wonderful to hear!

QuintessentialHedgehog · 10/09/2022 20:04

Yes, it really is!

Mummyoflittledragon · 10/09/2022 20:06

Oh gosh. What a relief! Am going to google now.

Crunchymum · 10/09/2022 20:06

Thank God he's been found. His parents must be overjoyed.

AAT65 · 10/09/2022 20:07

Great news

HebeSunshine · 10/09/2022 20:07

Phew. Where was he I wonder?

NSPCCEnquiry · 10/09/2022 20:19

It says he has been traced rather than found. It suggests to me he had gone or been taken somewhere.

whenlifehandsyoulemon · 10/09/2022 20:41

Oh gosh! I pray he's found safe and well x

felulageller · 10/09/2022 20:45

Strange that it didn't say that he was now with his family.

Hopefullysoon2022 · 10/09/2022 20:56

Fantastic news, delighted he's been found

Festoonlights · 10/09/2022 20:57

Delighted and relieved - I hope he is okay though

Minimalme · 10/09/2022 20:59

There will have been a reason for the lack of coverage. The Police obvious had an idea of who he was with and probably didn't want to spook that person into moving on.

So glad he's been found. Poor little thing.
