PyjamaFan · 07/09/2022 14:05

I'm going to a bug M&S foodhall tomorrow, for the first time in about a year.

Any recommendations?

Om my list already:

Count on Us chocolate mousse
Tuna fishcakes

Beyond that I need some suggestions!

TIA.

Those little raspberry jam filled iced buns with pink icing. They come in packs of five and they are perfection. They have been a nice of mine since I was 5 years old.

Brokendaughter · 07/09/2022 14:58

We can't get through the food hall without picking up a bag of mini oat biscuits (they are about a pound).

DialsMavis · 07/09/2022 15:00

I want an iced spiced bun now, they were my breastfeeding snack with a pot of tea in the cafe

Arenanewbie · 07/09/2022 15:01

I love their cheese bread from the bakery and yes, yes, to £1 butter biscuits. Fruits are definitely nicer especially strawberries, kiwis and plums (should be in atm) . The sausages range is very interesting. The lamb one and the chicken one both are very delicious. Look out for jams - they often have something unusual.

SavingsThreads · 07/09/2022 15:01

The chocolate orange biscuits, and the honey sausages off the picnic section

thefatpotato · 07/09/2022 15:02

The chicken, leek and ham hock pie. Thing of dreams.

JulesJules · 07/09/2022 15:04

Those round very chocolatey biscuits.

Colin - yes cake, obvs, but I also love those sour fizzy Colin sweets (I was completely addicted to these when I was pregnant, 'fizzy fish' in those days)

Imo M&S Earl Grey tea is the nicest EG tea, better than Twinings etc.

In the frozen section I get the bags of croissants/pan au chocolat, great to have in the freezer, and the bags of prechopped fresh ginger and garlic.

D1 and I love the Plant Kitchen cauliflower popcorn.

The sourdough bread is delicious.

Whatever Aiden recommends...

Which we know won't be the steak cut chips as nobody who works there ever recommends them. Such a failing.

whynotwhatknot · 07/09/2022 15:11

chicken and broccoli pie is nice-unfortunately sold out in mine

their chocolate is quite nice

SpiderinaWingMirror · 07/09/2022 15:21

Any type of pie. Always much nicer than any other supermarket!

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 07/09/2022 15:23

WellTidy · 07/09/2022 14:26

Chocolate crunch cereal
cherry yoghurt in the glass pots
blood orange ice cream magnums
Pack of four small pulled pork pastry type things
Duck spring rolls(6) and lemon chicken in the Chinese food section
Trays of all butter chocolate chip cookies (8)

my sort of list 😂

StuntNun · 07/09/2022 15:27

The Moroccan hummus topped with whole chicken peas; mountain chocolate bar (like Toblerone but better) and/or Swiss chocolate; I love their ready made hollandaise sauce as it's a PITA to make yourself.

StuntNun · 07/09/2022 15:27

*chick peas, obviously! Blush

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 07/09/2022 15:31

Pineapple and coconut ice lollies
Sweet potato tortilla chips
Mexican layered dip
Muscat grapes
Salted caramel rice cakes (I usually loathe rice cakes)
Eves puddings (and some custard)
An egg, tomato and salad cream sandwich

Have you got a sparks card? I currently have an offer of £10 off a £40 shop, assuming that will be available for everyone with a sparks card! Worth signing up for.

Oh god these are addictive. Ate most of a packet on my own in a PMT binge

welshpolarbear · 07/09/2022 15:38

Pretzels from the bakery, their baguettes are really good too.

Choqo · 07/09/2022 15:42

Basically drooling reading this list, I miss living in a place with an M&s!

Chocolate Peanut Ice Cream cones. Unbelievably good!

Watch out not just for the advertised prices on the shelf but for what it actually comes up as on the tills when you scan. I've frequently had to ask for price corrections recently! You could argue it's only 10p here and there but it all adds up and has been often enough for me to do something about today (admittedly it was a pair of leggings that were £3 more when scanned through the till!)

I use scan and shop. Easy to set up. Then you can check the price.

Only prob is you still have to weigh loose fruit and veg at the tills so just go for the junk food!

I always feel guilty when I've paid on the phone and just walk out though even though that's what it's for!!

The M&S jaffa cakes in peach/passionfruit and lemon/lime, are delish.

Topjoe19 · 07/09/2022 15:46

Tinned rice pudding.
Definitely those pink iced buns with jam in the middle!

chelle0 · 07/09/2022 15:46

Check the fruit for mould. This wasn't the first time either. I honestly don't know why I go back!

Sadly not all offers the same! I don't have that one

The feta dip is incredible (get 2!)

Why have I never had this in my life?

It sounds divine, I need to go and find a bigger M&S (mine has a medium size food hall but no feta dip)

Agree with jaffa cakes, I will only eat M&S jaffa's, they have more orange jelly.

Also the choux buns - delightful and the cheese bread is perfect.

Can't think of anything else that hasn't already been mentioned.

lollipoprainbow · 07/09/2022 15:49

Redcurrant puffs… very moreish.

I've been known to eat a whole pack at once 🫢
