I have a few but I'll just pick one. For me... the Friends background music everytime they change scenes. Particularly on a Saturday if I'm having a leisurely afternoon at home 🏡 and particularly the early epidodes when Monica was with Richard x 😊

My rainbow pottery bowl that I bought on holiday. It's so cheerful and I save it for eating my breakfast in at weekends. It reminds me of a lovely family holiday.
Getting hugs from my grown up DCs, they are both great huggers! Even when DD came over to hug me goodbye when she was going out and I was in the middle of an interview on Teams - luckily the interviewee thought it was sweet Smile

Breastfeeding my 2 week old baby in public for the first time the other day. I was trying to be very discreet, especially given that we were in a restaurant. I looked up and a mum at the next table was smiling and giving me the thumbs up. I've heard of so many negative stories about breastfeeding in public that this mum gave me a confidence boost she didn't know I needed!

One of mine is a bit 🥱 but I love hanging out a load of the same coloured washing and seeing it dry on the line, especially if it's a bit breezy, it feels so wholesome.

I do this. A whole green only wash and then I max out the 'nice inside' feeling by hanging it out from light green to dark green.

Carrying on a laundry theme: I spend 20 mins ironing my Victorian style cotton night dresses for the week and putting one on (combined with fresh sheets even better!) is a small highlight of my day.

I walk past some beautiful old trees to get to work and it gives me joy every time I see them. I say hello to them and 'look at you'! in my head.

YY to tree love! My 2 favourites on one of my dog walking routes is an old oak tree and an apple tree - both grow alone, so probably the result of wildlife many years ago, and I always say hello to them too. The oak tree especially will have weathered so many storms and seen so many things over the years - what tales it could tell.

Handyweatherstation · 07/09/2022 08:32

More tree love. We have a shared driveway which looks out onto a grass area and the end of the drive is framed by high walls on each side. When you look down the drive you see a perfectly formed mature lime tree on the other side of the grass area. Every time I see it I think 'Isn't that lovely'.

There's a tree outside my house that I never really appreciated till this year, when I realised it shades the house for a few hours each day, during this crazy summer we've had.
I love that tree. Thank you tree.

I have a Pret subscription and that first sip of coffee is an absolute delight every time.

@TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination, congratulations on being able to put washing out again and on pulling up your pants! I hope your shoulders continue to improve and you can kayak again next summer. Regaining mobility after an accident is wonderful.

@Handyweatherstation thank you for your lovely message!💐

🤞🏼🤞🏼for kayaking next year. I'm trying to enjoy the small gains along the way!

@MintyChipton i was wondering if I could be 'sad' enough to post this! I don't feel so 'sad' now. We can be laundry sad sacks together 😂

Ooh can i join, hanging clean laundry is one of my favourite pastimes, i hate bad weather when i cant peg out 😳

Having coffee outside and watching the birds eating. They're coming quite close and don't mind me at all
My little dog welcoming me home
The way he flops on his back from standing, asking for belly rubs
Early morning walks

When my 3yo ds leans over and gives me a kiss unexpectedly.

HippyChickMama · 07/09/2022 12:17

Another one that likes hanging out washing, especially a white wash because it's extra satisfying when it's all the same colour and it's so bright in the sunshine

That moment when everything is done for the day, the curtains are drawn and the lamps are on and we can sit down and relax

Sitting indoors watching a film with the dc with a cup of tea while it's cold and wet outside

A walk in the rain in the woods in coats and wellies and the hot shower afterwards

Sitting down to watch a film as a family after Christmas dinner

Getting into a bed with clean sheets after a shower and with a good book to read

When 3 year old DS nuzzles into my neck and wraps his arms around me he finds hugs overstimulating so its lovely when he just walks up to you and gives one

Flyinggeesei234 · 07/09/2022 13:19

Rain. Every time. It’s like I’ll never get over the novelty of water falling out of the sky. Absolutely love it.

EnormousStuffedMarrow · 10/09/2022 07:43

@HalfBloodPrincess your post about looking at the moon & stars with your son made me cry.
How lovely 🥰

EnormousStuffedMarrow · 10/09/2022 07:45

Have to stop reading for now, tears are flowing!!

MrsRuggles · 10/09/2022 14:07

My three year old grandchild hadn't seen me for a while and insisted on riding their tricycle holding my hand on a walk through the park.

Parking at the grandchild's parent's home in the evening in winter. It's so dark there. I stop for a moment to enjoy the stars.

Wild weather by the sea is also marvelous.

Handyweatherstation · 10/09/2022 15:47

Something I really enjoy is dreaming about my old dog, who died a long time ago. The other night he visited me in my dreams and was so pleased to see me, I knelt down to fuss him and the feeling of the thick fur round his neck was incredibly vivid, I could feel my fingers sinking into it. Seeing his bright little face again, animated and not in a photo, was lovely.

SirChenjins · 10/09/2022 20:05

Oh @Handyweatherstation - what a beautiful post 😊

Handyweatherstation · 11/09/2022 11:52
