I love monsteras, mine today was a fiddle leaf fig that I thought was in its way out as I picked it up for free half dead, it has a new little leaf peeking out today!

Ha I was wondering if I'd sound too odd commenting on the utter contentment that comes from hanging my baby's clothes out on the line but I see I am not alone

After years of renting flats with no outside space, buying a house and being able to hang laundry out in the garden was bloody wonderful.

Fast forward five years and now there's a baby with teeny tiny socks and wee little leggings. Sheer joy every time.

When my dog climbs on to my lap to be stroked and falls asleep. It would be lovely with any dog but it's even more special with him as he's a rescue with an unhappy past who was very fearful of people when we adopted him and used to cower if anyone tried to touch him.

Shaved legs and clean bedding.

Leftover roast dinner on a monday night, especially if I find a roast carrot or parsnip.

Being greeted by my dog when I come in. He thinks I am the best person in the world. His joy is unbridled.

Coming across squirrels and occasionally a rat at my allotment with their paws full of raspberries or plums and their eyes doing an "oh SHIT!" expression when I see them

Another laundry one. When you bring the washing in on a cold day and its not quite dry and it has that 'cold' smell.

Also walking or running at sunset on a cold winters day. I love seeing the outline of the bare trees on the orange sky.

When my cat rolls over to have his tummy tickled. The first couple of times. Not so much when I trip over him on the stairs with a full basket of laundry in my arms.

My DP moving in bed so a bit of him is touching me.

It’s not all night but as we’re settling down when I move away after a cuddle to the cool side to go to sleep, a hand or foot or knee will just settle touching a bit of me.

He’s not a big one for talking about or expressing his feelings but this is his little “I love you”

A nice cup of brewed Yorkshire Tea and sitting down (yes, arse on sofa) to drink it in complete silence.
A very rare occurrence but it makes me so bloody happy!!

When my teenager ds puts his head in my lap while watching tv grabs my hand so I stroke his hair and the the cat squeezes himself next to us and purrs. It’s always been just the three of us our little family ❤️

A walk through the woods with my dog (when he’s not being an arsehole), with the sun shining through the trees, the wood pigeons cooing, the squirrels running about and the sound of the stream running over the rocks.
