Has it rained yet where you are? And if yes, is it now cooler?
I am in Scotland Central Belt, no rain and still as hot as it was yesterday.

feellikeanalien · 15/08/2022 17:10

Northumberland. No rain yet but it's grey and much cooler. Supposed to be heavy tomorrow when DD and I have a night away at the beach!!!🙄

twirlbite · 15/08/2022 17:13

@stopringingme
Lincolnshire here too - it rained for around an hour mid- afternoon. Hope it's on its way to you!

Thunder a bit of lightening and some rain, here in the Somerset.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 15/08/2022 17:17

Just heard our first thunder!

weleasewoderick23 · 15/08/2022 17:20

Nothing here in Plymouth. Still sunny and very hot 🥵

MadonnasKebab · 15/08/2022 17:20

South England- more clouds today but still 28 and bloody hot. So much for thunderstorms!

Pumpkinsanddaisies · 15/08/2022 17:22

South Lincolnshire here, no rain and currently 26 degrees.

Suetwo · 15/08/2022 17:25

Essex. Had a downpour about 3pm. Really hoped it would clear away the heat. It didn't. Still really muggy. And another 'tropical night' is forecast. The horrible, sticky heat always clings on in the south eastern corner of the island. God, I am yearning for some cool weather. I've had enough now.

MajorCarolDanvers · 15/08/2022 17:27

Its been pishing it doon since tea time yesterday in Fife

maddiemookins16mum · 15/08/2022 17:37

Kent, no rain, a lovely pleasant, warm, sunny, summers day. I even managed most of the day with no fan and hope to avoid cuddling a frozen towel to sleep tonight.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 15/08/2022 17:51

Just home, London/Kent borders, and there are puddles and evidence of rain! Still bloody cloudy, hot and humid though, not pleasant at all.

jay55 · 15/08/2022 18:18

Nope. East London. Maybe tomorrow.

I hope so, it's still much too hot inside.

Oblomov22 · 15/08/2022 18:36

Not yet. Surrey.

lurchermummy · 15/08/2022 19:53

Gloucestershire, showers but still steamy and now pretty much stopped.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/08/2022 20:04

It's down to 20° in Lancashire now, just been for a nice evening walk.

edwinbear · 15/08/2022 20:12

Few drops just hitting SE London - DD and I have been standing in it enjoying it! Current temp is 23 degrees, still muggy but so much better.

Cornettoninja · 15/08/2022 22:06

Yay! We’re finally getting what seems like a decent soaking! Grin

I’m sure the streets have been smelling pissy, presumably animals. Now they can get a good wash!

allboysherebutme · 15/08/2022 22:27

Yes only about 40 minutes rain, not cooled down as much as I wanted, I've still go the fan on. X

UnalliterativeGeorge · 15/08/2022 22:32

I don't think it's rained in my bit of Cambs for about 6 weeks 😩 it's so muggy still. We had one rumble of thunder earlier and that was our lot. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

RumbleStrutt · 15/08/2022 22:39

^^ same also Cambs. I ignore the forecast of rain as can tell from the sky it’s not gonna happen. Been 2 months since any substantial rain other than a 5 min v light shower.

Whataboutno · 15/08/2022 22:56

How can the weather forecast be wrong so many times? I check BBC and it's wrong, then I check Met Office and it's also wrong!

eyriesend · 16/08/2022 01:10

The promised rain and thunderstorms didn't appear here (Yorks). Still hot. Still, it's supposed to be cooler tomorrow and rain predicted in the afternoon again. We shall see.

I truly do not understand how forecasters remain in their jobs. Surely it’s time to acknowledge that no, there isn’t a model on earth that can predict the weather with any accuracy?

Oblomov22 · 16/08/2022 04:58

I too can't understand how some weather forecasters stay in their jobs, because they aren't /can't be held to account, for such wrong information.

On the news Truro flooding. Rain practically nowhere else!
