Has it rained yet where you are? And if yes, is it now cooler?
I am in Scotland Central Belt, no rain and still as hot as it was yesterday.

The rain in Inverness yesterday was unreal. It came down really heavy and caused shop roofs and the cinema roof to collapse. There is a lot of flooding. It only lasted about 30 minutes along with thunder and lighting but it did a good bit of damage. I have never seen rain like it. It’s still humid though but not as humid.

CoodleMoodle · 15/08/2022 13:41

West Sussex here, no rain but much cooler. Predicted at 4pm, then tomorrow afternoon. Wednesday is supposed to pour down.

Creamcrackersandricecakes · 15/08/2022 13:44

West Kent, not one single drop here. It is slightly cooler though and a slight breeze has arrived, thank god.

Drizzling in County Down all day.

DollyTots · 15/08/2022 13:45

Essex. 31 degrees today still. No rain or storms predicted till Wednesday where we are. Finally struggling to function in the heat. We’re in a new build and it’s just an oven.

Where abouts? I’m central Scotland, had horrendous
thunderstorms last night/early hours this morning. And it’s been raining on and off all morning. Definitely cooler

haveyouopenedyourbowelstoday · 15/08/2022 13:47

South Wales. Rained this morning. It was so nice to see, feel and smell!

ErrolTheDragon · 15/08/2022 13:49

We've just had a fairly hard shower in Lancashire and it's cloudy, it feels a bit cooler now.

slavetothekittens · 15/08/2022 13:50

East Cheshire. Raining now, started about an hour ago. Supposed to clear up and start again this evening. Cooler than yesterday.

Temporaryname158 · 15/08/2022 13:55

Leeds, 29 degrees and partial cloud no rain yet!

It absolutely pissed down in the Scottish Highlands yesterday! Caused chaos too.

Vue Cinema - water poured in through the roof.

Tesco - water came in via roof and caused ceiling panels to fall. Customers evacuated.

On holiday in N Norfolk and due tomorrow. Almost unbearably humid at the moment

EquallyDivided · 15/08/2022 14:02

Hampshire, not a drop but overcast since early on and only 27C as opposed to 31 yesterday

voldr · 15/08/2022 14:04

Went to the shop in Inverness yesterday came back soaked to the bone.

jumpingwithjoy · 15/08/2022 14:04

South west Scotland and it's been torrential rain all day, the drains are overflowing already. A cool 20 degrees - loving it!! Grin

Suetwo · 15/08/2022 14:07

Essex. Not a drop. Went for a walk about midday and was shocked at the humidity. The air isSO thick and hot.

God, I have really had enough now. I even came down with heat exhaustion at the weekend. Saturday evening I (stupidly) went for a jog. Saturday night was horrific - like trying trying to sleep in a sticky, sweating jungle. I got no sleep and woke up feeling ghastly - nauseous, etc. Yesterday, I took my niece to the park and sat in the sun. About 11, I felt awful again and vomited. I then spent the entire day crashed on the sofa. I just couldn’t move.

If this is the future, I don’t know what I’m going to do. I loathe the heat, so the last six weeks have been awful. If future summers are all going to be like this I will seriously consider moving to Northumberland or Scotland.

Babyroobs · 15/08/2022 14:07

East Midlands here. It does feel slightly cooler but still incredibly humid. Rained for about 5 seconds at around 11am.

KurtGeigerCounter · 15/08/2022 14:09

West Midlands - it's rained gently but persistently on and off all morning, and the air is lovely and cool. You can almost hear the fields and plants sighing with relief. Just need a thunderstorm now for some final drama.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 15/08/2022 14:15

I'm in Yorkshire. No rain yet but apparently a small chance of drizzle 🤨. It is starting to look a bit more overcast now though, but I'm 30mins from home and we don't usually get as much rain as where I am currently.

My DP is praying for a downpour as he's hoping for a break from dealing with constant field fires at work tonight.

Butteryflakycrust83 · 15/08/2022 14:15

SE London, humid - rain has gone from my weather app until at least tomorrow night. 28 degrees but breezy.

hotfroth · 15/08/2022 14:20

Bedfordshire - cooler at 30 degrees, and as dry as a bone.

TabithaTittlemouse · 15/08/2022 14:29

No rain in my part of Cornwall but the lovely sound of thunder rolling so think it’s on it’s way.
I haven’t had a chance to enjoy the sun yet so although we do need some rain I’m quite sad that I’ve not been able to make the most of the sun
