My local one plays yankee doodle btw.

For 35 years I have thought that our ice cream van played the theme tune to Roger Ramjet: "Roger Ramjet, he's our man. Hero of our nation. For his adventures just be sure to stay tuned to this station". Thanks to this thread I now realise it must have been Yankee Doodle!

Oranges and lemons here. It took me a while to work out why, when I was out gardening on a sunny day, I would get that song in my head. I realized that the ice cream van was far enough away that I was not aware I was hearing it but clearly my brain was registering it somewhere 😁

Walls ice cream, Give me Cornetto, whatever it’s called. I would assassinate the driver, it’s endless and drives me nuts every evening.

Teddybears picnic, which I find sinister and erie. 😩

It's so odd that I haven't heard a single ice cream van this summer. Rhe local one usually plays Greensleeves.

I haven’t heard one for years, but in the 70s our local one would play:
Sol Mi Doh
Mi Sol DOOOOH’.

And where I live in Italy it’s the knife grinder who goes around with a loudspeaker.

A Funny Feet, God, that takes me back!

We have had them round here in the past (Zone 2 London), but now I think about it, I don't think I've heard one this summer. Can't remember the tune from the previous ones either. Or my childhood ones' tunes. I hope it was O Sole Mio/just one Cornetto though; it's a classic.

No ice cream vans near me. They don’t tour the streets. I sometimes see one parked up near a park but they don’t play tunes.
