What tune does your local ice cream van play?

Mine is Popeye the sailor man.

Seems quite outdated.

Ours alternates between Greensleeves and O Sole Mio (thanks Beefilm, I kept thinking of cornettos and couldn’t remember what it was called!).

Teddy Bears Picnic, and it always sounds like something from a horror film for some reason

Teddy Bears Picnic but slightly sped up which makes it sound menacing, like the teddy bears are coming after you.

Teddy Bears Picnic too, he never smiles, I am interested in his backstory and have invented some kind of Breaking Bad drugs style story for him in my head where he is running a secret operation from his van on the side 🤣

I do wonder how they decide each season which tune they will have. Ours is different every year; in the past we've had Greensleeves, O Sole Mio and Yankee Doodle.

Our local one is the simpsons theme tune! What I really want to know is:
Does the tune come with the van or can you choose one? Is there a catalogue?
Are they interchangeable?
How does is work - they are bloody loud but I’ve never seen a speaker on an icecream van?
Why do we have icecream vans in the Uk but not abroad?

Blue Danube but it's occasionally been different despite it being the same van, but I can't remember what the other tunes are now as it's been Blue Danube for weeks.

I guess they can also change the speed of it as it's been both incredibly slow and way too fast at times.

Or if someone has a friendly local ice cream van crew, perhaps they could ask and report back? Good excuse to buy an ice cream

I've just found out what ours is!! I did my best humming and somehow Google figured it out!

It's called Swedish Rhapsody No. 1 by a guy called Percy Faith.
