RIP 💐

How do you know that.

Has he been convicted?

Oh FFS. Hardly any abusive men ever get convicted. Would you leave your kids with him? I bloody wouldn't. How about believing women? For starters.

Waitingforwinter- I can only assume you have no understanding of mental health issues or additions to say something so idiotic. There also was no alcohol in her bloodstream.

To be fair, she was under the influence of cocaine as I heard it. Plus she drove into someone’s home and caused carnage. It is sad for her family that she has died under these circumstances but if she had killed someone in the process that would be even worse.

NiceViper · 12/08/2022 20:41

I can sympathise with how troubled she was.

But police have confirmed that they are testing for substances in her blood at the time of the crash. If she was driving under the influence of proscribed drugs, then I’m afraid my sympathy does become sharply limited.

if she was reckless with her own life that’s one thing, but behind a wheel is reckless with everyone else’s and that’s not right

nzeire · 12/08/2022 20:43

Rip

RunningFromInsanity · 12/08/2022 20:44

The facts are, the only person she hurt was herself. Through sheer dumb luck.
That woman’s whole house and every single belonging was destroyed. I reckon she was pretty fucking hurt.

powershowerforanhour · 12/08/2022 20:44

"think it's awful The mail have chosen those photos when discussing her sad death.
And it IS sad and tragic.
Why would you show a picture of a woman trying to 'escape from the gurney' when she had massive burns/ brain injury."

Yes I'm surprised they did. I know it's a trashy tabloid but I thought the UK press had better rules to follow now about that kind of thing. Thumbs down Daily Mail it was scummy to print that photo (even if it was all over news sites elsewhere in the world doesn't matter, they should rise above it).

FelicityFlops · 12/08/2022 20:44

She was fantastic in Men in Trees. Very sad for her family, but not personally affected by her death.

RoseAndRose · 12/08/2022 20:48

From the BBC: “According to the LA Fire Department, Heche's vehicle "erupted in heavy fire" after it was driven 30ft (9.1m) into the house, leaving the property "uninhabitable".”

How fast do you need to be going to hit a house so hard you travel 9m after impact?

Boybandfacedfannyfart · 12/08/2022 20:48

Anne’s father died of AIDS years ago, so is unlikely to stand trial.

so not only did he rape her, but left her fearful he’d given her the virus.

powershowerforanhour · 12/08/2022 20:49

"How do you know that.

Did you read that article? He's dead (one of the first AIDS victims in the US). I suppose she said in the past that the whole family were brought up to live a lie so it may be that she's not a reliable witness.. but I agree he has a lot to answer for

Panatone · 12/08/2022 20:51

I don’t know much about her, except she was in a relationship with Ellen de genres for a long time.

butterflied · 12/08/2022 20:56

A580Hojas · 12/08/2022 20:39

I think this is a classic example of the "be kind" message gone wrong. Presumably no one forced her to get in her car and drive it when she was intoxicated? If she'd run over a child would you be saying "but she was depressed". Come on.

This is where I come down on it. It's pure luck she didn't kill anyone.

Midlifemusings · 12/08/2022 20:57

The charges were upgraded to a felony (before her death) because the woman in the house was injured.

CharlotteRose90 · 12/08/2022 20:57

Nope sorry I feel more sorry for the lady she injured and the ladies house that’s wrecked because of her selfishness. Whether it was a cry for help or what we don’t know but don’t endanger someone else in doing that. Hopefully she is at peace and not suffering

Not 'but'. 'And'.

Thing is, if you think that everything that happens has to be someone's fault, you the have to identify a guilty party.

But I don't think the world works like that. What happens sometimes is that a lot of awful things happen that lead to other awful things happening - sometimes years later, and to people who have nothing to do with the original awful things.

Your question is a fair one though. If it happened to my kid, no, I wouldn't be reasonable about it. I'd be in no emotional position to be. And that, incidentally, is why it's fucking stupid of the press to ask the relatives of someone who's been murdered whether they're in favour of the death penalty. I mean, right then, they probably are.

There was a case maybe ten years ago, where a child was killed. The right-wing press launched into their usual "string 'em up" palaver, and (probably) the Daily Mail said, "Just ask the family! They'd want to see the bastard hanged! Will no one consider the family's needs and opinions?"

And the family released a press statement saying that, because of their moral and religious beliefs, they felt that the murderer should be cared for and forgiven, and there would no benefit to anyone in the taking of another human life.

There was a short, perplexed pause, and then the Daily Mail went with an editorial saying that the family were obviously addled by grief and no one should pay any attention to them.

catandcoffee · 12/08/2022 21:01

@MrsLargeEmbodiedTerrible tragic life she had...look it up.

She had a horrific end, I think all you can do is feel compassion.

Being burnt to death is horrific. You might say she asked for it, but nobody asks for that!

ClasslessLady · 12/08/2022 21:07

Poor woman and her poor children. There needs to be far more understanding and compassion for people with MH issues and who have gone through traumas.

gatehouseoffleet · 12/08/2022 21:07

toomuchlaundry · 12/08/2022 20:20

Would people be so sorry for her if she had killed someone whilst driving under the influence?

Being burnt (almost) to death is about the most horrible death you can endure. I think you can say she was punished for driving under the influence. Fortunately she only killed herself.

ClasslessLady · 12/08/2022 21:08

@WaitingForWinter1 Don't be so callous you never know how you or your loved ones might end up one day.

Bjarnum · 12/08/2022 21:08

RaspberryParfait · 12/08/2022 20:12

The householder of the house she drove into has serious injuries apparently.

I’m with @WaitingForWinter1. Only sympathy I have is for her poor kids having to live with losing their mother in such a reckless, needless way.

Pure luck she didn’t kill someone.

how do you all know she was troubled?

Does being sexually abused by her father count?

Its fairly unusual for a male homosexual to abuse a female/female child

Not impossible but homosexual men tend to abuse males (if they are going to be abusers)

And I note that the brother committed suicide not long after his father's death

I'm pretty sure she wouldn't give two flying fucks 🤷‍♂️

EmeraldShamrock1 · 12/08/2022 21:14

I agree that the photos should not have been published.

Sometimes the pain is too deep to consider anyone else.
