Basically anyone who doesn't think the sun shines out of Johnson's arse.

DuncinToffee · 01/09/2022 17:09

Although jgw1's list is more comprehensive

Thanks, it took a considerable time to work out.

L1ttledrummergirl · 01/09/2022 17:29

Just to add to my comment earlier- I'm glad Keir has a plan and I'm glad I've heard him being challenged on it. He is definitely at least 10 steps ahead of the conservatives.

I feel that the relationship between the workers and the Labour Party has historically been symbiotic but the Labour Party are now causing a divide. This makes them appear less for the working population and more for the fat cats. Trying to keep a middle ground will do them a disservice in the end.

The farce that is our "government" just gets worse by the day.

L1ttledrummergirl · 01/09/2022 17:30

I did like your list @jgw1

Piggywaspushed · 01/09/2022 17:33

Excellent list. I am currently compiling a list of the Labour cabinet to decide why they are misfits. This could be non PC, though, but one can only second guess.

Have you considered that the Labour cabinet may be made up of misfits because the majority of MPs are from the Conservative party and have neither morals nor empathy, so in their company anyone displaying those qualities is a misfit?

Piggywaspushed · 01/09/2022 17:51

So, here are the ragtag bunch:

labour.org.uk/people/shadow-cabinet/

Let's see: (list edited to main players)

Angela Rayner - single mother? Young mother? Northern? State educated and went to college. Has worked in social care. All terrifically unusual things and not suitable for High Office. Redhead to boot and may be a bit of a temptress.

It gets harder after this

Annelies Dodds - ermm privately educated and did PPE at Oxford. Sounds awfully not misfit . Maybe it's the Scottish bit, or the curly hair.

Rachel Reeves- maybe there are too many women. Went to an all girls' school and then Oxford where she read PPE. Ermmm. Also not northern or Scottish and hair is very shiny. - oh!-

David Lammy - I'll leave that there. Can't think what could be amiss.

Yvette Cooper - what? Another female? Lawks.Oh, first class degree in PPE from Oxford. Heavens to Betsy. They sound like a bunch of thickos.

Bridget Phillipson - went to Oxford : Modern History. Lettering the side down. Suspicious amount of lipstick. Bit Northern.

Lisa Nandy - suspiciously well educated. Must be because of her dad. The well know academic misfit.

Jonathan Ashworth - politics and philosophy at that hot bed of anti establishment wokery, Durham.

Well, what a peculiar, odds and ends bunch they comprise!

I can't help but noticing that many of them went to Oxford which makes them elite, and we don't like elites or people who went to Oxford. And some of them read PPE which is not really a proper degree at all. I mean who else do you know who read PPE at Oxford and look at the state of them!

SueSaid · 01/09/2022 18:15

Yes like I said a bunch of misfits, all the posh Oxford education in the world can't make people charismatic and effective speakers and leaders.

You've missed Ed milliband, surely worthy of a special mention for his hairdo alone which is very important apparently going by how often Bozo's do was frothed over. Then we have 'have a go' Wes, him of the historic 'I'll push ya under a bus' tweets. Lovely.

mibbelucieachwell · 01/09/2022 18:21

Ed Miliband brushed his hair, unlike Boris Johnson. Boris doesn't even respect his job enough to conform to the social norm of brushing his hair.

Roussette · 01/09/2022 18:23

Why in god's name do you want charismatic?
I don't.

Attention to detail, a moral compass, and not a liar will do me

DuncinToffee · 01/09/2022 18:30

So Oxford Uni = social misfit?

I'm sorry my list didn't include the people you actually wanted to have a go at. My instinct is right that misfit includes physical attributes.

I have met Ed Miliband. He was lovely and his hair is all his own and admirably thick.

Piggywaspushed · 01/09/2022 18:33

Angela Rayner definitely is charismatic. Make your mind up.

jgw1 · 01/09/2022 18:49

Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak.

There is some evidence for your statement.

Very.

A good list and I think she's got it very accurate Grin

I'll trade shallow charisma of the Johnsonian variety for overall competence of the Starmer variety every time. You only have to look at how Starmer ties Johnson up in knots at question time to see who is the more effective speaker, and given that so few of the people Johnson is supposed to be leading will work with him, we can also see who is the better leader.

itsgettingweird · 01/09/2022 19:29

Anyone else - despite the concern this shit show are - actually looking forward to PMQs next week with Starmer and Truss?

As it happens my work meetings that day seem to fall rather well, so I should be able to watch it.

Someone who was not prepared to be interviewed by a gentle Tory journalist vs someone who has been interviewed based on questions sent in by the public.

Hmm.

jgw1 · 01/09/2022 19:33

If only the nasty EU had not pulled the regulations about the efficiency of kettles we might not be in this mess at all.

itsgettingweird · 01/09/2022 19:37

I'll be at work.

But ds doesn't swim Wednesdays.

So unpacking my shopping delivery, switching on PMQs whilst pizza cooks and I'm rustling up a salad is my Wednesday evening guilty pleasure Grin

A very sad state of affairs if this is all we expect from our chief representative.
That should be the very least that we expect surely?

It'll be like watching paint dry. Wonder what Blackford will pipe up with now that his weekly 'resign prime minister!! resiiiiiiiiiign!!' wail will no longer be in his sermon.

Notonthestairs · 01/09/2022 20:00

"Michael Gove tells @jonsopel that Boris Johnson “restored trust in democracy”.

According to YouGov, more people have distrusted than trusted Johnson throughout his time as PM, and his trustworthiness rating currently stands at -65"
