I'm actually enjoying the summer, but I'm a real autumn person. I love the back to school feeling of September, the first smoky smell of autumn in the air, the crisp air and lovely coloured leaves. Anyone else want to share how much they love it or what you are looking forward to?

September to Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year. I love the whole build up to Christmas. Then I really struggle with low mood in jan/Feb until spring comes round again.

Milliemoo1908 · 20/08/2022 15:20

I too love Autumn, especially this year as I’m hoping to complete on a flat for myself and my two teens (separated from husband) at the end of September, can’t bloody wait!!! Also love the build up to Christmas 😊

MrsMontyD · 20/08/2022 15:24

I've had an autumnal nail colour this morning, I'm bored with summer now.

2under2howscary · 20/08/2022 15:25

The leaves have started to fall here yay!

Love it!

I can’t wait for autumn either. We live in a village with lots of trees and wildlife, and it’s wonderful to see the changes to the natural world. I can’t wait for the walks to school in the autumn sunshine, and it’s my birthday at the end of September, that must be why it’s my favourite time of year!🍁

NewThisSummer · 20/08/2022 15:33

I'm hoping it stays warm for quite a bit longer. I'm dreading the heating bills.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 20/08/2022 15:46

There's an Autumnal feel in the air today, it's lovely.

QueenieL1 · 20/08/2022 17:13

I love it when the nights get darker, I love summer mornings but not the light nights.

Decafflatteplease · 20/08/2022 17:33

I've found my people!

Absolutely love autumn. Mt favourite time of year. Full of anticipation, beautiful colours.

Love back to school in September , the start of a new year filled with possibilities, a lovely new diary and pen.

Autumn is also slow cooker food, foraging for blackberries for.apple and blackberry crumble. All the soups. Candles, blankets, hot baths with a book and the window open so cold air comes in while I'm all cosy in the bath.

The nip of the morning air while I sit on the back step with my tea (morning ritual).

Dresses chunky tights, boots and scarfs

Feel so much more like me in the colder months

Cannot wait!

October half term also my favourite holiday, we don't celebrate Halloween but we love marking the seasons and I love autumn decor.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 20/08/2022 17:35

I put on tracki bottoms last night rather than my usual shorts. Definitely a wee nip in the air. I can’t wait!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 20/08/2022 17:37

Does anyone else honestly not mind the nights drawing in? TBH it doesn’t bother me at all.

I really like September to December, not so mad about January to March, though.

ScootyAlan · 20/08/2022 17:42

It's nice to see darkness once again when autumn sets in.

indecisivewoman81 · 20/08/2022 17:42

I love Autumn, the oranges and reds, the smell of bonfires and crisp evenings. I always buy a new knitted throw for the sofa and get extra pleasure from curling up in it with a good book and a cuppa.

I also love scarves, wooly hats and boots.

hattie43 · 20/08/2022 17:46

Ooh I just can't wait .
I'm fed up having to run my life based on heat times for the dogs . To just be able to open the door and go anytime will be wonderful .

Agadoodoododont · 20/08/2022 18:02

Not wishing summer away but looking forward to Autumn clearing and planting.

And I much prefer Autumn and winter clothes.

IHateHeatWaves · 20/08/2022 18:20

I bloody love Autumn too. It’s nearly time to get out my Little Book of Hygge and see what I can add to my cosy living room, another throw, scented fire lights, invest in a big candle for the coffee table and maybe a fluffy rug this year.

A glass of red, my log fire on, my dog asleep in front of it and strictly.

IHateHeatWaves · 20/08/2022 18:23

Autumn starts 23 Sept. I put it in my diary to change my wardrobe over on the first day of the season and wear those clothes whatever the weather.

Most of our birthdays are in Autumn, Halloween and then December I try and fill it will lovely events in the run up to Christmas. It’s the best season.

waitingforthesun101 · 20/08/2022 18:29

Absolutely LOVE autumn.
Love the feeling of back to school
And new beginnings.
Crisp mornings, sunshine and bright days but with a chill in the air. Cosy nights starting to draw in and an Indian summer.
Love all the food and drinks, the clothes, Halloween and bonfire.
Just love all of it! So ready

Blackdiame · 20/08/2022 18:33

It's not quite blankets and tights time yet but I've lit a few candles and been picking some blackberries. Sept is a good time for a last camping holiday of the year when the kids go back to school (no children in this house).

RestingMurderousFace · 20/08/2022 18:36

Had a stroke of my tweed jacket the other day.

mackthepony · 20/08/2022 18:38

Yeah me too. Bring on the pumpkins

mackthepony · 20/08/2022 18:38

😂 Restingmurderous

Yerroblemom1923 · 20/08/2022 18:45

My favourite season of all! All the best festivals and birthdays, friends birthdays etc Mine, my mum's, my daughter, my late gran ALL Autumn babies. Halloween, bonfire night, build up to Yule, winter equinox etc And as a pp said feels like the earth is winding down so we do all the pickling/preserving of the summer fruits and veg to enjoy in colder months.
I even planned my children to be autumn babies I love the season that much (and educational reasons, obvs)

RampantIvy · 20/08/2022 18:46

and this heat sodding off.

What heat? It has been a very pleasant and warm, not hot 21 degrees today where I live.
I am assuming that all the autumn and winter lovers are wealthy, given the cost of energy these days.

I hate the cold 🥶 hate it. If I had the money I'd move somewhere it never got cold.

Same @Unforgettablefire

We don't really get many crisp mornings in Autumn though. More damp dark miserable ones.

Same. Where do people live who get clear, crisp weather in autumn with warm, mellow days? Our autumn is usually damp and grey. Why do people romanticise about autumn?

Nights closing in,

What is great about that @Ambertonix ? Are you rich?
