Mine was I came home unexpectedly early to find my cleaner cleaning topless :). I already knew he was an excellent cleaner, a lovely man and a dog lover. And now I know a little bit more!

I got my new (to me) car today! Love it

BlancmanegeBunny · 04/08/2022 18:24

Floating around the villa pool on an airbed totally relaxed.

Got a surprise SMS from someone on old apologising for the silence for the last week. Thought I'd been ghosted. Was a nice surprise. Hisvolder sister has had a serious strike. Glad I'd not been blocked.😀

Don't want to be negative, but I'd be wary iiwy. Men say all sorts of crap on OLD to get what they want.

Thank you for all the replies, there are some absolutely lovely things that have happened to mnetters throughout the day and I’m really pleased to hear them. Long may it continue :). And for those who haven’t had anything good happen today, I hope tomorrow will make up for it.

One of the reasons I’ve taken so long to come back to the thread is that the aforementioned cleaner came back at 8.30ish to collect a bit of his hoover he’d forgotten. And then he stayed until gone 11. I would love to think he had an ulterior motive (we’re both single) but I didn’t get anything other than friendly vibes! Was still a lovely evening though!

You should have asked him which bit of the hoover did he leave behind. He might then have suggested it was the extension.

Then you could have asked what his extension does. He would have told you it works its way smoothly into small cracks. This you could ask him to show you how, on the staircase, working your way up to the landing.

When he has done and you are both on the landing, you could have mentioned there is another crack that really needs his extension and it is in the bedroom.

Then we really wouldn't have minded your delay in returning to the thread.

Gave Plasma for the first time today. I have given plenty of pints of blood but fancied a change!

That’s fab. How often can you give plasma?

My cat, who had been missing, finally came home!

Mollyplop999 · 04/08/2022 20:55

Myself and DH went a lovely drive and found a gorgeous farm shop and cafe where we had lunch in the sunshine.

I believe every two weeks, I will do it once a month.

SmokedTofu · 04/08/2022 21:25

Impromptu lunch date with DH - lovely walk in the park followed by the mot delicious slice of carrot cale at a new local coffee shop

Caramelsmadfuzzytail · 04/08/2022 22:04

My cat honoured me with her presence and actually sat on my bed for about 1 minute each time.
I went to lidls for some bum wipes and possibly some plasters, it's Thursday which is market day. I dont people on a Thursday. Fortunately people were elsewhere, got my bum wipes but didn't find the plasters.

@Bladed - I don't think you are reading enough into your cleaner calling back round at 8.30 & staying to 11.00pm 😆
As I said, I have a (female) cleaner & we can both talk for England, but I'm sure she wouldn't have stayed until 11pm 😉 You need to consider your next moves, if you're interested. Don't miss the signs - they sound obvious to us and we are only reading about it here 😍 Enjoy!

Bladed · 11/08/2022 12:01

@Whatliesbeneath707 he did similar yesterday too. I was at work when he was here cleaning but he came back in the afternoon because he’d forgotten his bag. He only stayed about 20 mins though because we were chatting in the kitchen with ds and ds’s friends.

I would like to think there’s more to it but I genuinely think he’s just scatty! The only slightly hopeful remark he made was that he would like to take my dogs on a nice walk he knows one day!

Whatliesbeneath707 · 11/08/2022 14:00

Ohhh @Bladed I think he's covertly trying to ask you out, but minimising the risk of rejection, if you're not interested!
Has he always left things & had to return to collect them, or is this a new thing? 😉
If you're interested, you need to grasp these opportunities/invites. He has made the first few difficult moves and he's waiting for you to respond.
The next time you see him, ask him when he fancies showing you this dog walk.
Remember @Bladed , we only tend to regret the things we don't do, not the things we do.......

Spent 45 minutes on an air conditioned train, now returning home on same. Bliss, as it's 34 degrees. I might just stay on going back and forth until I need to go home.

toooldtocarewhoknows · 11/08/2022 14:10

I unexpectedly have spent a rare and lovely hour with my adult son. We've been sitting in the shade sipping frappe.

DinosApple · 11/08/2022 14:14

The plasterer turned up and has nearly finished 💪.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 11/08/2022 15:41

I've just come back from my hairdresser Lovely short cut and colour
Apparently hair grows quicker in hot weather!

cookiecreammmpie · 11/08/2022 16:10

My kids fought over themselves who was going to rub cream into my feet.

Studyafter40 · 11/08/2022 16:19

Took my car to Halfords expecting a large bill for suspected wheel bearing, brake pads, dodgy exhaust. They called me back an hour later to say it was just a loose back plate in the wheel and a clip had come off the exhaust. They fixed both problems for free and did a vehicle health check. It may be the best thing that's happened all year.

You should have complimented him on his bag. You should have said how lovely it looks and how much you like a nice full sack.

There are not really that many men that really want to take a a lady's dogs for a nice walk that they know. It is a euphemism.

This is such a great feeling isn’t it, and so rarely happens!

@Qik 😂😂.

@Whatliesbeneath707 he’s only left stuff behind the last couple of weeks but he often leaves things like cloths/sprays in odd places round the house.

I’m really not sure if there’s an ulterior notice - he’s 10 years younger than me (but looks 25 years younger!) and very cool and interesting. I am neither of those things! However - I noticed today he’d left his earphones here so I will text him tomorrow to let him know and be sure to have some beers or something in!

Ulterior motive not notice!
