Mine was I came home unexpectedly early to find my cleaner cleaning topless :). I already knew he was an excellent cleaner, a lovely man and a dog lover. And now I know a little bit more!

Caught up with a very old (in years not age) friend and was food for my soul 🥰

KimWexlersPonyTail · 03/08/2022 22:58

I got my letter to apply for my state pension a day I thought was never going to come as I am a WASPI

BullshitHunter · 03/08/2022 23:06

Met a young woman while in a queue who said she had her first baby two months ago. We are decades apart in age, like chalk and cheese, yet spent 10 minutes sharing our experiences. Shared interests are what connect us all.

Sgtmajormummy · 03/08/2022 23:12

Made a tasty family dinner in advance so we had “sundowner” cocktails.

Had a serious conversation with DS who is struggling with work experience and important exams. Not “nice” but I think we offered the right amount of support and encouragement.

Tried the Pink Stuff for the first time and started using it everywhere. Toaster, backsplash, napkin rings…

The dog was super cute and obedient today.

I was going to say nothing good happened.
But... my teens went to bed half an hour ago to sleep, and that was the moment of bliss.

Longdistance · 03/08/2022 23:47

I bought a wedge of Comte cheese today, it had a yellow sticker on it 🧀

Srx1 · 03/08/2022 23:52

The best thread! 👏

My baby was kicking a lot today 🥰

MrsMoastyToasty · 03/08/2022 23:52

I managed to get to the mall for a spit of retail therapy on my own. I was able to drive there and back in addition to walking the entire length of both shopping levels.
(I broke my ankle about 6 months ago and recovery hasn't been as quick as I expected).

Thank you for all the replies, there are some absolutely lovely things that have happened to mnetters throughout the day and I’m really pleased to hear them. Long may it continue :). And for those who haven’t had anything good happen today, I hope tomorrow will make up for it.

One of the reasons I’ve taken so long to come back to the thread is that the aforementioned cleaner came back at 8.30ish to collect a bit of his hoover he’d forgotten. And then he stayed until gone 11. I would love to think he had an ulterior motive (we’re both single) but I didn’t get anything other than friendly vibes! Was still a lovely evening though!

Sparklingbrook · 04/08/2022 08:37

Yesterday, going out for a lovely meal with dh at our local Italian. Delicious food in a really authentic, casual, relaxed trattoria. I love it there. We were reminiscing about our previous Italy trips.
Today, dentist trip and no work needed! I was expecting something because my teeth have been one thing after another since I was pregnant with my first 5 years ago. But it looks like it's finally all sorted and settled down and I don't need lots of work and a big bill to match!
What a lovely thread!

Itwasgoodwhileitlasted · 04/08/2022 11:58

@Bladed are you sure? That's a long time to chat!

GenialHarryGr0ut · 04/08/2022 12:05

Just been told I have passed two units on my diploma course - was worried that one of them wasn't up to scratch but it was fine.

Deep cleaned the living room yesterday so coming downstairs this morning was lovely - it's tidy and smells of oranges from the polish I used.

Rescue dog and cat are sleeping in the same room after months of the dog not knowing how to behave around the cat and wanting to play with her at every opportunity. The cat who is tough as old boots looks positively smug as if to say - ha, I taught her!

TooBigForMyBoots · 04/08/2022 12:18

I found a fiver in my jeans this morning. It really cheered me up and I thought I'd start a thread about small things that are lovely.

Found the thread already existed.Grin Thank you @Bladed.Thanks

Bladed · 04/08/2022 12:50

You’re welcome @TooBigForMyBoots, and finding money is always a great feeling! Spend it on you :)

@Itwasgoodwhileitlasted I’m pretty sure but if it turns out I was wrong I’ll let you know!

We now officially have a crawler in our home, so right now that is good news, by the weekend it will likely be a nightmare 😁

Ahrightsoted · 04/08/2022 14:49

We have/had 3 adopted rescue dogs and all had been going well. Back in may one of the girls decided pretty much overnight she did not want to live with other dogs and began attacking very badly the other two. Had a few very bad weeks and then after a particularly awful attack we made the decision to surrender her back to the charity. Felt like the shitiest person ever Sad
She went to a dog free foster home and today I found out the foster family who had said they didn't want to adopt and foster only have adopted her!
This has made me so happy today, my little piggy dog has everything she ever wanted again. In a family home with kids and they all love her as much as we did.

Summerhasbeenandgone · 04/08/2022 15:20

Glad the ddog has a great future ahead!!
We had 3 and added a 4th. Never had a peep but she was known to us so obviously made a difference.. Seeing them all together warms me up!

StinkerTroll · 04/08/2022 15:28

Saw a Financial Advisor today for the first time in my life and was dreading it as hate paperwork. He was great and not daunted by the unsourced pile of different bits of pensions and will sort them out to see how much I can get etc -feeling slightly more in control now.

pedropony76 · 04/08/2022 18:15

My mum randomly said she’ll send me £50 every month which will help me reduce a massive bill over time. She’s the best🫶
