We're in the garden with nice cold drinks.

We can hear the traffic and occasional sirens - we're on a main road and near all the emergency services.

Ds2 is wittering away, in the house.

Dishwasher draining behind me.

The local rook family is being very vocal.

And on either side, there are chattering, scratching and squeaky sounds. A bit like demadogs 😱

One cat crunching her biscuits, one cat snoring, a plane outside and my elderly (almost deaf!) neighbours TV through the wall.

slavetothekittens · 19/07/2022 08:49

Cats chomping their breakfast, one telling me all about it between mouthfuls.
Birds singing.
Next door neighbour getting into his van.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 19/07/2022 08:50

Birds tweeting. A singular bird louder than the rest. The soft rumble of the dual carriageway a couple of miles away.
The occasional car driving quietly past the house. My husband getting comfortable in his office chair and opening his workbook to review yesterday's notes regarding the work he is doing on the pc.
The low hum of the fridge freezer. The tap tap tap of me typing this message.

My fan, Ken Bruce and my cat is doing that funny noise when they’re washing themselves and sort of suck at their fur.

A very annoying and intrusive high pitched whine. Otherwise known as tinnitus. There seem to be a few of us!

Yes. Mine is rather loud, this morning.

Apart from that, I'm indoors with most windows shut and can still hear the traffic, as I'm hiding from the heat at the front of the house.

There is something very rattly in the washing machine.

Husband is working so lots of mouse clicking and alerts and the occasional sigh.

Ds1 has a fan going.

The usual screeching, screaming and crying from the garden next to us as the children play in the pool. Still audible with the windows shut and they are 100 yds away.

The odd car going past.

I'm sure there is more but being drowned out.

Someone in the street is hammering something.
I can hear the extractor fan from the bathroom after my shower and
the faint noise of "fisher price little people" which my DS is watching whilst DH is working on the couch next to him.

user237363826 · 19/07/2022 11:39

My neighbour in her garden on the phone. The wind and some cars in the distance.

LivingNextDoorToNorma · 19/07/2022 11:42

The washing machine.
My baby feeding.
My neighbours’ grandson, (who has recently found his feet and is running up and down their living room, loving his life).
The occasional car.

FourChimneys · 19/07/2022 11:45

My fan.
