I actually found my lost fabric tape measurer yesterday. In a box of miscellaneous items I'd collected as I tidied the house then put on a shelf and forgot about rather than put away.

In a bag if knitting that could be either in a caravan, a boat, a car on the M1 or a house. Along with mine having a party, and not phoning home to let me know it’s ok.

I take mine up to the bedroom to measure something I'm selling then it slips down under the bed or in the futon :)

I bought half a dozen of them at one point. Different colours and everything. No idea where a single one is now.
