Is anyone actually enjoying this weather?

I seem to be avoiding going out and am spending a lot of time in my cool basement rooms. It's too hot to sit in the garden or go anywhere (apart from go in my air-conned car to the gym swimming pool or my mate's swimming pool).

I might make an exception at the weekend to go down the pub (one with a garden) in the evenings.

Oh yes sooo much! 🥰

DialsMavis · 13/07/2022 15:08

Yes, I love it. But I am very lucky to wfh, have a coolish house and live near the beach.

SirChenjins · 13/07/2022 15:09

Yes - me! Depends on what you mean by 'this weather' though, I guess. I might not enjoy 'this weather' if I was in another part of the UK and it was very hot or raining.

DSGR · 13/07/2022 15:12

Yes, love it. Can wear my floaty dresses, eat ice lollies and I wfh. I love summer

Worldgonecrazy · 13/07/2022 15:14

Love it. Looking forward to the weekend. Garden and beach - lovely!

I do completely understand why anyone without access to either of those would not enjoy the heat.

MarshaBradyo · 13/07/2022 15:14

Yes I love it

Sunshineandflipflops · 13/07/2022 15:15

Yes, I love it. I hate winter and actually get quite down by short days, cold and rain so I relish the small amount of summer we get.

cheeseisthebest · 13/07/2022 15:16

No I hate it.

Norgie · 13/07/2022 15:16

I love it. I'm sat out in my garden in my bikini with my feet in the dogs paddling pool and a cold drink.

JudgeRindersMinder · 13/07/2022 15:16

Absolutely loving it! I thrive in the heat

Hedgesfullofbirds · 13/07/2022 15:23

No, it is vile - I work long hours, outdoors in a very physical, manual occupation and it is intolerable, unhealthy and miserable, but I dislike any temperature above about 20 degrees anyway, which is plenty warm enough to work in, and the reason I have no central heating in my house, for the colder months, which, fortunately, is stone built, thatched, with stone floors, and therefore cool.

Oh for several days of precious life giving rain and a drop to more comfortable temperatures!

Norugratsatall · 13/07/2022 15:31

Nope. 😕 am most unhappy. Have no energy, can't think properly, headaches and feel so low. I do have Long Covid so that's prob not helping but I'm looking forward to a drop in temps in the next day or two.

bambi1132 · 13/07/2022 15:35

Absolutely hate it.

totallyaddictedtocheese · 13/07/2022 15:36

I would normally be loving the heat but I'm 37 weeks pregnant and feeling very sorry for myself 😆

Bouledeneige · 13/07/2022 15:37

By the way I am referring to the heatwave.... it's 28 degrees in London today and expected to be 36 degrees on Tuesday!

It's too darn hot! I'm happiest around 21-23 degrees with a good breeze.

It's no fun being pregnant in this kind of weather. Or working outdoors! Sympathies.

I’m loving it! Three kids not napping or going to bed properly because of the heat, and yet I still don’t want it to be over. (I want them to sleep so I can enjoy it.)

Aposterhasnoname · 13/07/2022 15:41

Meeee. I love it. Spent last weekend on the beach and every evening this week sat in the garden till late. It’s wonderful.

There's a nice cool breeze in Glasgow and its overcast.

FourTeaFallOut · 13/07/2022 15:43

I'm in the N.E in the sweet spot at 23c with a decent breeze. Long may it continue.

AppleHa · 13/07/2022 15:43

I am. I work from home so don't have to commute, our back garden is north facing and shady, my office is at the back of the house and cool (at any other time of year it is freezing). So far with the help of a fan night times have not been awful. We have access to an outdoor pool which is 4 minutes walk away. The one downside is my driving lessons which are hell on toast, and I have two this week.

mynameiscalypso · 13/07/2022 15:46

It doesn't bother me at all. I've been running around London to various meetings over the last three days and it gets a bit hot and sweaty at times but it's fine. My toddler seems to actively thrive in this kind of weather!

MigsandTiggs · 13/07/2022 15:46

I don’t like anything over 25°C but where I am in Scotland it’s 20°C with beautiful sunshine and a light breeze. I can sit in the shade on my deck over looking the countryside, play loud Latin music and down rum punches or frozen homemade elderflower cordial. Luckily my three neighbours are out of hearing distance 😎

StaplesCorner · 13/07/2022 15:47

Good question. Im near London and anything over 25 degrees actually affects my mental health; I feel nauseous and anxious. I mostly work from home so can do my best to keep cool but yeah, really brought down by it. I have 2 social events this weekend, a rare day in the office next week and am flying on business too - I feel sick at the thought of coping with the exhaustion. Not sure how to manage these feelings!

I’ve always hated warm weather since I was a child and am 60 now so assume I’ll always struggle. I’ve been to Mediterranean countries felt fine, but also Sri Lanka and I didn’t cope there, so must be the humidity?
