Is anyone actually enjoying this weather?

I seem to be avoiding going out and am spending a lot of time in my cool basement rooms. It's too hot to sit in the garden or go anywhere (apart from go in my air-conned car to the gym swimming pool or my mate's swimming pool).

I might make an exception at the weekend to go down the pub (one with a garden) in the evenings.

Absolutely hate and despise it. But I know plenty of people who DO love it,although when the person saying that they 'love it' is bright red in the face and perspiring heavily, with their hair damp and plastered to their head,I do wonder if they're being truthful. Over the last few years,I've come to realise that some people think that saying you don't love hot weather,or can't cope with temperatures of 34 degrees plus,is a sign of weakness.🙄

Agreed, competitive heat tolerance is so annoying. The hotter the better particularly pisses me off.

I get my own back in winter though by using the phrase "the colder the better"

Love your username 🤣

I don’t think there’s anything competitive about it to be honest.

I’d actually also love a proper cold, snowy winter. Rather than the months and months of endless murk and mild we tend to get. Can’t argue with a cold, crisp day. The dreary weather just lasts a bit too long in this country and it’s a given every single year. A nice summer is not.

It's a much more bearable temperature today and it was cooler last night so I slept !

I’ve chatted about the weather and everyone loves it so far but no one was looking like that Grin

Sounds like heavy exercise in this area and even then.. not that extreme

It's just as annoying with the competitive "snuggling under a blanket with a hot chocolate" in winter 🤷🏻‍♀️

although I don't actually think there's anything competitive about either, that's just looking for a way to be snarky TBH.

Love it. Am just about to go and set the pool up.

I've got to drive down to the south coast at the weekend to visit an elderly relative, I am not looking forward to that as most of the south east are probably heading down to the beach...

Movinghouseatlast · 14/07/2022 10:10

I love it but I live by the sea.

Badger1970 · 14/07/2022 10:16

I'm not enjoying it having caught norovirus from an arsehole at work who didn't follow their GP's advice and stay at home until recovered. Having a temperature and shivering with cold in this heat isn't much fun.

I wish people were as hysterical about D & V bugs as they are Covid Angry

Silvercatowner · 14/07/2022 10:40

My arthritis is far worse in this heat. I'm fed up with being in pain and still all the bloody time.

Bouledeneige · 14/07/2022 11:57

To be fair I prefer spring and autumn and even a crisp winter's day. I like sunshine and a breeze. I just think I'm a pale British person who doesn't really tan who prefers to be cold or cool or mildly warm.

And London feels pretty claustrophobic when its hot, humid and still.

DD's graduation is next week. Luckily its in Manchester so forecast to be two degrees lower than London - but its still forecast to be 34 degrees. She will be roasting in a gown but its only for a couple of hours. I've no idea what I will wear..

I love it. We get so little warm weather so I’m making the most of it!

lollipoprainbow · 15/07/2022 00:13
