When you peg out your washing

Do you have an order in which you hang your clothes?

Dh doesn't; he just pegs them on the line in any old way with mismatched pegs and everything. It bugs me but I let it lie because he is chief launderette in our house.

I did it today though and I have to put it in my order:
Socks
Pants
Cloths
Tops
Bottoms
Tea towels
Hand towels
Bath towels

They also go in order according to family member so it would be dc2, then dc 1, then mine, then dh's stuff. Of course the pegs match too.

Just wondering if others do similar?

I do larger things first, then fill any gaps with smaller stuff, I have a hanger for socks & can having probably 10 pairs on each hanger.

What??? No. I just hang em. Who has time to care about peg colour or order of hanging? Get a grip!

I put the underwear on the outside of our rotary line and the larger items on the interior as it dries faster that way and also the sun can have a lovely bleach on my giant white sloggies Grin. Our neighbours haven't fainted with the shock so far.

Don't match the peg colour and they stay out on the line if it's going to be dry.

A random question for those with a rotary washing line that hang underwear on the inside, are you particularly small? I’m 5ft 11 and as I lean in to hang stuff on the inside, the outer line is at mouth level so I have to remember to keep my mouth shut! For me, it’s much easier to hang one big T-shirt on the inside than 8 pairs of knickers!

I am 5’ 3” and I do the ‘small things in the middle of the rotary’. It’s never occurred to me but yes, it would be much harder if I was taller!

Matching pegs, smalls on the inside, then tops then bottoms and thicker items like jumpers and hoodies on the outside.
For bedding and towels, pillow cases or flannels on the inside, then the sheet and then the duvet cover or bath towels. Oddly, I peg tea towels on the very outside line as I like the sun being on them😐
