Does anyone know if boyes is still at the Arnison Centre please? I genuinely can’t remember seeing it!

AlviarinAesSedai · 26/08/2023 19:44

Yes, Boyes is still at Arnison, either next door to Wilko or almost. @Florelei

Florelei · 26/08/2023 19:49

Thank you @AlviarinAesSedai!

AlviarinAesSedai · 09/09/2023 12:10

Is everyone enjoying the sun and heat. I’m melting 🫠. But my washing is dry. 😆

PickAChew · 09/09/2023 12:59

I'm thinking of hiding in our lovely cool front room for most of the afternoon! I can't even sew because what I'm doing needs the iron a lot!

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/09/2023 17:18

Too hot but my front room is also cool

AlviarinAesSedai · 13/09/2023 20:06

Anyone see the Northern Echo on Facebook. Anyone local to me, the Dr who died last year. The inquest has just been. Very sad and the rumour mill in village is in overdrive.

QuestionableMouse · 13/09/2023 20:28

I've just put the heating on for a bit. The flat is really chilly tonight! 🥶🥶🥶

SinnerBoy · 13/09/2023 20:51

Oh dear! It's warm all the way down South, where I am.

... Halfway between Grimsby and Borkum!

Someaddedsugar · 15/09/2023 07:10

@AlviarinAesSedai I thought the doctor was involved in a car accident?

We've had a drying week but it looks miserable outside today, and last night was freezing!

Hope everyone's ok? It's our busy period at work atm so feel like I haven't been on Mumsnet for ages!

Thanks @lifelongfrugaleer! Sorry I didn't get a notification for your post. I've had an email from someone re beavers and have requested a start date but not heard anything since. I'll PM you now to see if you know the group!

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/09/2023 07:50

Ah sorry @Someaddedsugar i read your pm before I read the thread. Replying now

AlviarinAesSedai · 15/09/2023 08:03

@Someaddedsugar the inquest has just been. If you follow The Medical centre on Facebook. They have issued a statement.

Someaddedsugar · 15/09/2023 08:50

@AlviarinAesSedai I wasn't expecting to read that - I assumed it was a tragic accident. How awful!

AlviarinAesSedai · 15/09/2023 08:53

@Someaddedsugar i know! Just awful.

Whiskeypowers · 15/09/2023 10:49

I can remember when he died ….some of my friends were his patients and very upset. This will be difficult for a lot of people to come to terms with

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/09/2023 11:04

Oh dear

PickAChew · 15/09/2023 18:10

Oh crikey.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 16/09/2023 11:44

How sad x

AlviarinAesSedai · 24/09/2023 18:53

Anyone’s local school affected by the concrete? I know St Leonard’s in Durham is.
Also anyone local to Stanley see the bother last night! Police have issued a dispersal order!

PickAChew · 24/09/2023 18:56

It seems to be catholic schools that are disproportionately affected by the RAAC in our area.

Someaddedsugar · 24/09/2023 19:05

I know there was a school in Darlington that had a delayed start, and quite a few in Newcastle were closed but hoping to be open by October. I imagine it's really difficult for parents, kids and teachers with this one as it feels a bit like the unknown (like covid all over again!)

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/09/2023 19:29

One primary in Darlington was delayed start, one secondary has a block cordoned off and pack lunches as the kitchen is affected.
ferry hill comp is mixed off site and online I think

then Durham J as you mention
