She really shot herself in the foot, if it was a joke. I spent a couple of hours, reading the comments ( yes my life is that boring) .
The worst part is she doubled down. Don’t mess with the locals. 😆

Afghanistanley per chance?

pizza was a good idea 🫢

AlviarinAesSedai · 16/01/2023 16:36

@Whiskeypowers , yes She was really rude. She certainly doesn’t take criticisms well.
Even the pizza place’s reviews page. She was arguing.

All very strange really wasn’t it?!

AlviarinAesSedai · 16/01/2023 16:47

If she is the manager, she needs to sacked. If her own business what was she thinking!

PacificCoastHighway · 16/01/2023 20:03

I have no idea what this is about but sounds intriguing!

Hope everyone is keeping warm.

AlviarinAesSedai · 17/01/2023 13:41

A Italian restaurant in Stanley. Called the locals rough etc. Then when called out she doubled down.
It’s in the Northern Echo. Very funny.

Someaddedsugar · 17/01/2023 18:57

I read this today! I don't think she helped herself at all!

Does anyone know if the Townhouse ever got the payment they were owed by the people who got married and then just left?

I would love to know. What happened in the end re The Townhouse! @Someaddedsugar
It’s like never knowing the end to a book/film.

AlviarinAesSedai · 28/01/2023 13:42

Anyone heard when Home Bargains is opening near Arnison?
Pleased the weather is getting nicer and more daylight.

Florelei · 28/01/2023 16:51

Hi everyone. I saw that on the Stanley FB page.

is everyone’s local school joining in with the teachers strike?

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/01/2023 17:31

my kids seniors is staying open apparently but I know loads of the teachers are striking so not sure how

Someaddedsugar · 29/01/2023 08:25

DS' primary is closing to the lower year groups but is open for KS2.

I overheard at work that Fram is closing.

DS wants to go to support his teachers in the marketplace so think we'll go along.

I was wondering about home bargains @AlviarinAesSedai - everything else is open now and it doesn't look like there's been much movement with hb.

Also has anyone heard that the Greggs at agnes st Stanley is opening soon? It looks like it is getting all fitted out.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 29/01/2023 08:32

Not heard about our primary yet but the teenagers are having years 7-10 at home with what teachers there are doing teams lessons and then yr 11 will be at school doing their normal lesson if teacher is there and supervised revision if not.

Whiskeypowers · 29/01/2023 10:27

Think our primary and infants is staying open with some provision but not exactly sure yet

@AlviarinAesSedai think HB opening 18th feb?

AlviarinAesSedai · 29/01/2023 11:20

18 of February? I’m quite looking forward to it! Love Home Bargains. I really like the new Aldi there.
I’m sure the new Greggs is soon in Stanley. That and the new Starbucks is a talking point on the Stanley Facebook page.
Good luck to striking teachers.
Good luck to parents.

AlviarinAesSedai · 29/01/2023 11:44

Greggs was supposed to open yesterday (Saturday).
Starbucks is middle of March.

PickAChew · 30/01/2023 19:50

Not been in a while. I don’t keep MN open on my phone any more.

pleased about your impending move, @Someaddedsugar 👍🤞🏻. I’m probably heading town to the other D tomorrow, on a fabric hunt.

No idea what’s happening with home bargains. The food warehouse and Aldi don’t get that busy and I’m wondering if they’re getting cold feet.

DS2 is in school on Wednesday. Only a couple of classes won’t be in, which surprised me.

AlviarinAesSedai · 30/01/2023 21:00

Hello PickAChew.
I haven’t been to Iceland Food warehouse.
I like the Aldi as has nice wide aisles.

Someaddedsugar · 30/01/2023 21:42

👋🏻 @PickAChew. I'm getting nervous now as we're nearing mortgage expiry date and everything feels far too slow for it to happen but we'll see.

Enjoy your fabric hunt Smile.

I agree there doesn't seem much traffic at Aldi etc. I've been at what I'd say is peak weekend shopping time and the car park's been empty and the shops are very quiet. Yet the Arnison Centre is constantly heaving. I wonder if it's just that bit too far out? I do like the Aldi though.

I might unknowingly pass you pick in working from the office tomorrow in town

QuestionableMouse · 31/01/2023 10:40

Both my nephews are off tomorrow due to the strike.

PickAChew · 31/01/2023 14:24

Well, it was bloody cold so my nose ran, constantly, the cornmill loos were bloody shut, the simply food didn’t have anything I could eat for lunch and the fabric selection was disappointing but it was nice to boot myself out of hibernation for a bit. Plus, none of the terns divebombing North Road shat on me and the rain waited until I was home 😂

arabellasdress · 31/01/2023 15:27

Just a quick hello now, will write more later xx
