Normal things that gross you out.

Not sporn or gross habits. Just every day things.

Used teabags make me feel funny.

Bits of cooked egg on a fish slice/spatula is gross.

The corners of books when they're turned up.

Feet. I even hate the word. This time of year is the worst for it with people wearing sandals. No one seems to put socks or shoes on their toddlers and babies. I hate it especially toddlers when their feet get chubby and shapeless. It's horrible.

Also certain names and words make me feel ill.

Such are the joys of being autistic and having an overreaction to so many things.

What normal things disgust you?

Also dish sponges or cloths floating in water, no matter how clean the water is.

People who chew with their mouth open

Women who walk out of a public loo without washing their hands. [Only use women's toilets of course, pretty sure some men do it too].

Footballers gobbing onto the pitch. Vile. Some female footballers do it too. It looks gross. And the whole nation sees it when it's on the TV. Poor example for kids.

The tiny lake of foetid water at the bottom of a dyson hand dryer.

thecurtainsofdestiny · 07/07/2022 19:17

Oh and scratchy clothing. Especially tweed.

Herejustforthisone · 07/07/2022 19:21

The smelly, dry flakes of skin that form on the sides of big toenails.

Also women with weirdly large and overly long big toenails. Especially if they’re painted white. 🤷‍♀️

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 07/07/2022 19:23

Slimy uncooked egg white on top of a fried egg.
Egg white in a boiled egg that’s still jelly-like.
Meat fat - except for really crisped up streaky bacon fat.
Not much else.

Flannels. There's no excuse.

I went through a stage of chewing on flannels...

Were you still with him for this two years?!?!

God no, he finally went to the dentist after the first year of our relationship - I refused to kiss him. He was deathly scared of the dentist, which I get, but I kept pointing out that he was far more likely to need work done if he didn't start cleaning his fucking teeth!

Hopefully you were 9 months or thereabouts and it wasn’t a week ago last Tuesday 🤣

SisterRuth · 07/07/2022 19:46

Grapes, not when they're really old & dried up but when they've just started to pucker. And the word pucker apparently. Made my toes curl.

I don't really go to the dentist, but I do take care of my teeth.

"Cleaned them with his tongue :'( "

Yeah, SAturday gone.

I am ashamed to admit I was in my teens. I had an iron deficiency in my defence, I used to suck sponges.

beautyisthefaceisee · 07/07/2022 19:48

People running their hands across a tablecloth. Makes me shiver.

I work with kids and I can do blood and sick.

Snot?

No.

beautyisthefaceisee · 07/07/2022 19:49

i also kissed a guy I've fancied for ages recently. While it happened, he said "mmmm"

NOPE

StarlessSea123 · 07/07/2022 19:50

The used cutlery in the dishwasher rack, hate if I accidentally touch it when putting more in.

The food compost bin.

Feet.

Mugs especially with cold drinks in.

Thankfully, I dont care for tea and coffee anyway.

I purposely leave my tea to go cold in a big mug. I know it's vile but I love cold tea. Or cold camomile with milk in.

Oestrogelsmuggler · 07/07/2022 15:46

Hair in sinks.

Me too - ugh!

WellTidy · 07/07/2022 19:55

Stained mugs - DFIL drinks black tea and that is the worst for staining. I can only drink out of a mug with a white inside, so I bleach the mugs he drinks black tea from after he comes over!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 07/07/2022 19:56

Baked beans. The sight of them makes me feel weird.

The phrase "keep your eyes peeled".

Moths 😱

strawberrylacey · 07/07/2022 19:57

Sticky marks left from mugs on coasters. Especially when they damage the pattern.

When people eat crisps and they tip the packet up into their mouth to drink all the crumbs.

Birthday candles. I hate the way they melt into the icing, and the way people blow and spit all over them to put them out. In our household we just sing happy birthday and cut the cake.

Squidwitch · 07/07/2022 20:07

Every single jigsaw I get from a charity shop seems to have pubic hair in it. Sometimes I just feel like throwing the lot in the bin.

Pixies74 · 07/07/2022 20:14

GoodbyeErinsborough · 07/07/2022 16:17

Me too! I can't bear it.

It's not something I particularly hate, but the sound of other people cleaning their teeth gives me involuntary shivers, kind of how I imagine some people react to nails on a blackboard. Have always had it since a child, it's weird!

Squidwitch · 07/07/2022 20:17

Also any hair in water, or touching my back if it's a loose one. Vile. Also things with lots of irregular holes like spider webs and meshy things. I've heard most of our disgusts are primitive, and that massed holes is fear of disease, but curious why so many of us would be repulsed by hair, particularly wet hair. I wonder if in our ancient past it caused particular problems

ItIsSuchAMess · 07/07/2022 20:20

Flour and chalk shudder
Leftover cereal and milk sat in a bowl 🤮
Cold tea

SouperNoodle · 07/07/2022 20:24

Hair
Milk
