Embarrassing, silly character crush

I have been pretty down lately and I think that's probably the reason for this.

But I've developed a crush on a celeb, mostly a character he played, but him all round I suppose.

I know there's nothing wrong with a celebrity crush, a lot of people have them but I guess I'm just feeling silly about it. When I sit down to have a cuppa I find myself watching interviews, clips, my FYP on TT is almost exclusively him.

How do I snap out of it. I'm a grown mother FFS!

Just embarrassing.

OP...I'm crushing hard on the actor Joe Keery (Steve in Stranger Things). I'm 13 years older than him, but I feel like a teenager with an intense crush again! was probably triggered by the scene where he takes his top off and reveals a hairy chest

Bit embarrassed but hey, it's fun to feel like a 14 year old again (and better to crush on someone completely unattainable than a person in 'real life??). I'm not about to put a poster of him up, pretty sure DH wouldn't go for that 😅

Those of you with a Harry Styles crush, I'd recommend reading The Idea of You by Robinne Lee. It's about an affair between a woman in her 40s and a younger male pop star very obviously based on Harry. Some ridiculously OTT sex scenes but it's a steamy and enjoyable read!

@ParanoidGynodroid - the actor who plays Enzo was in GOT as Jaqen H'ghar - one of the Faceless Men of Braavos. He is a very fine looking chap.

But OP you're not alone. More recently it's been Tom Hiddleston, particularly as Loki in the TV series but also in Crimson Peak. Henry Cavill - but only as Sherlock in Enola Holmes and Geralt in The Witcher.
I binged The Mentalist and had a whole imaginary affair with Patrick Jane and then fell in love with Richard Castle.

I have a history of anxiety, and when I have particularly bad periods of mental health or veering into depression this behaviour manifests as maladaptive daydreaming. I have always had a very vivid imagination, maybe I should put my efforts into writing fanfic!

I think I'm indulging it because I do feel pretty shit and it feels nice to have those silly butterflies or just having something to smile about.

But I'm not 13 watching Take That on TOTP 🤔😂 Shouldn't adults be immune to this stuff?

No, not attraction.

Feeling giddy over celebrities. Teenagers crushing on band members and filmstars.

Then we grow up, form real relationships and grow out of that. Or not, as it seems!

I will have to come back to this after finishing ST4.
But I totally get the Eddie love, I spent a very pleasant night dreaming about him a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully I managed to forget I am married that time.

I can't read actual fanfic either, it's cringey.
The not Harry boyband books I have read aren't badly written, and are hot, but also very funny.
I don't know of any to do with your crush though.

I was cured a bit of my crush extending to Sam when I saw the roadtrip programme he did round Scotland with Graham Mctavish (?)...I realised he'd probably annoy me in real life! 😆
