Apologies that the prior thread filled up before I could create this one. Hopefully everyone will find it. Lurkers are of course welcome to unlurk.

Welcome, @yellowsmileyface, and thanks for sharing your dental news and cat observation. There are a couple of different formulations of novocaine dentists use and some dissipate faster than others. I know this because I am cursed with really bad teeth and have had a load of dental work done in the last 20 years. I kid my prosthodontist that he needs to name his Mercedes after me. If you're still number after a couple of hours you probably got the longer acting one.

The blueberry bread is down to about a third already, thanks to frequent consumption by DS. I may make another one today since I'm off and chuck it in the freezer. Thanks for the drizzle recipe Math.

DH was able to secure live lobsters this morning, so that's the dinner plan. We'll have sweet corn and pasta salad as sides. DH will steam the lobsters in a gigantic steamer pot we have.

Howdoes Thanks for the Floof love. DD came out today and said Mr Floof is perfect. He is playing foot and mouthball and eating lots with me with a very poofy tail.

Sprouts Welcome back, lovely to have you back. We are still here today but DH has just taken the silkies and the rabbit to their pet hotel and Mr Floof is being looked after by a couple of friends at our house and we are getting prepared. DD is going to a 6th form open day tomorrow where she will most likely go and her and her friend will come down on the train to Cornwall the day after to meet us there. DS will come in the car with us and first stop is just south of Bristol in a place where we have a private outdoor pool. Just hope we leave at a reasonable time tomorrow as I want to swim. DD has packed. I have three quarters packed. Have to sort the boys.

DH is picking up a Decathlon order. I wanted to order an inflatable kayak but DH has veteod this as too adventurous. So I have ordered 2 body boards instead. A lady with cancer who is sailing around the UK is trying to meet up with me down there, hope we can make that happen. Been sorting DSs education or lack of it too.

And forgot had my call with radiotherapy today. They will do a CT scan first in about 2 weeks then radio will be one week intense around 2 weeks after that. Hormone tablets being posted out to take after radio with follow up on 8 Sept. Also have reconstruction surgery but 1 to 2 year wait for that unless go private.

Am devastated about the shooting in Highland Park. Relieved DD is not at college - I think they are in lockdown there.

Half the family has Covid and we are due to fly to the Uk any minute now 😷

Fireworks canceled tonight thanks to the mass shooting in the metropolitan area targeting a 4th of July parade earlier today, with the gunman still on the loose. Highland Park is where people go to get away from shootings. It's where the scenes in Cameron's house were filmed in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Yes, I believe Evanston is locked down, ZZ.

We're also gearing up for the mother and father of a storm to pass through.

Math, sorry to hear that your fireworks got canceled. It's awful news from Highland Park.

We had the steamed lobsters for dinner. They were really good.

The op took a couple of hours, and I was home 2 hours after I got back to the ward.
My long distance sight is quite good (very odd waking up in the morning and being able to see) and I've bought some cheap reading glasses from Poundland. My eye test is booked for July 25th. I don't know whether I'll need full-time glasses, or just for reading-I'll let the opticians decide.
In other news, I've just booked a service visit for my dishwasher. It stopped working mid-programme, and when I emptied it and tried to run another cycle it wouldn't even start. The power lights are on, so it must be the water or pump.

Thank you. BTW my cleaner has lots of chickens including some silkies. She brings me their eggs, and I think of you and yours every time.

Its all very exciting in our house for the younger generation. Floof and Dd have been up since 4am and they woke up us at 5.30am, apparently concerned we did not oversleep. 😂Floof has been footballing with me and just refuelling on tuna.

Dd is getting ready for 6th form taster day. Floof has big tail, not the greatest pics as still half asleep. He keeps footballing against robin who always loses and gets knocked over then he rubs his chin against robin like sorry robin I do love you.

I have lost my book! Yeah, I have lots of others and nearly know this one off by heart, but I have lost it😭

When Floof wants something he does the head tilt look. This is him asking for another wrapper football, there are 4 behind him and I just threw one 5 secs ago. 🤣

Going to pick my blackcurrants in a minute when I can be bothered to summon the energy but I haven't decided what to make, we're already snowed under with jam. I may just freeze them until I feel more motivated.

Just been swimming at our stopover apartment on way to Cornwall. Really beautiful here, they only rent out one apartment and you have private pool to yourself. English breakfast tomorrow.
