Apologies that the prior thread filled up before I could create this one. Hopefully everyone will find it. Lurkers are of course welcome to unlurk.

Have a lovely time crabbing Iwandered

Hope all is OK Lemons

Hope the hospital went OK today Prok

Just dealing with LA and CAHMS for DS now and DD gets her GCSE results tomorrow. I know she will be fine, DS is the concern. We did find him though watching TV on the floor in the middle of Floof and rabbit, 3 lazy boys all lined up.

mathanxiety · 25/08/2022 00:03

Best wishes for your DD all the same, Silkie.

DD3 is back in university for the start of her final year. We discovered that I already have two books from the required reading list for one of her courses.

DS has his emergency medicine boards, both oral and written, tomorrow and on Friday. After that he'll start a new rotation in another specialty.

Silkierabbit · 25/08/2022 00:10

Thanks Math Hope it goes well for your DS.

Lemonsandlemonade · 25/08/2022 10:44

Hope your DD gets the results she wants Silkie. Hope you get CAHMs sorted for your DS.

Hope your DS enjoys his new rotation Math.

In boring news might take DS to sunflower farm today.

I’m quite down to be fair. I’ve faced an enquiry in work which has not been handled correctly at all and everything was unfounded. My union thinks there is a case if I was to reign for unfair dismissal. ( not the correct term).

Silkierabbit · 25/08/2022 14:08

So sorry to hear that Lemons Might be worth asking an employment lawyer, the legal board on here sometimes has people on who say they know things, obviously would check but may give some idea. I have found union advice can be a bit meh.

DDs results are fine and on to A levels, she is out with friends all today.

MissConductUS · 25/08/2022 14:26

Lemons, I think the phrase you're looking for is "constructive dismissal", which means a situation where you are harassed or manipulated into quitting. Do consult a lawyer.

The training was good, but I am now back at work with two days of unanswered email and other busy work to catch up on, so I'm a bit buried at the moment. DS is having a nice time in Boston visiting his friends from uni and had a nice lunch and visit with DD on his way up there.

I'm having a piece of apple bread with my coffee. DS consented to allowing nuts in it for this batch, so I added pecans.

My dull news is that today is my 60th birthday and I had my dressing changed. The nurse opined that my drain might (ha!) come out at my next hospital appointment on 5th September.

Good luck with CAMHS and DS Silkie, hope they finally come through for you all.

Silkierabbit · 25/08/2022 19:35

Happy 60th birthday DrTwo 🎂🍾

MissConductUS · 25/08/2022 20:15

Happy birthday DoctorTwo! Good luck with the drain.

Math, it's great that your DD3 has started her senior year. Two more years for mine.

Lemons, that sort of situation at work is extremely stressful. I'm sorry you're having to cope with it.

I have my annual physical exam tomorrow. I just saw my GP for the presurgical exam at the beginning of the month. She's fitting me in so I don't have to do it after the surgery.

DD3 immensely cheered by the recent student loan announcement. We'll have to see how it all pans out.

I came home from work today to an open kitchen door and the doorway occupied by snoozing Dcat. Stepped over cat and as I progressed through the apartment I realised that the cat was the only one home. I discovered a text from DD4 to say she had been running a little late for her PT job and couldn't get Dcat out of the doorway in order to shut the door so left it open. The door opens to a three season porch with a storm door so no worries.

Commiserations to you Lemons. That sounds frustrating and stressful. I hope it can be resolved in your favour.

Congratulations to your DD on her results, Silkie.

Happy birthday DoctorTwo. Wishing you many more.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 26/08/2022 06:30

Hello, I will catch up with you later, but

nothing obviously wrong inside. I 'll have to take enzymes for my pancreas and continue to eat healthily.

Lemonsandlemonade · 26/08/2022 08:03

Happy 60th Doctor Two

Well done Silkie on your DDs results glad she got what she needed. Thanks my Union is almost impossible to get hold of. ACAS gave good advice.

MissC constrictive dismissal is the phrase I was looking for.

math had to look up 3 seasoned porch then as have never come across that phrase before.

Prok glad your appointment went ok but frustrating you didn’t have answers straight away.

In dull news DS slept in until 7:20 he was so tired as he did lots of walking yesterday.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 26/08/2022 09:00

Doctor two Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag!
Sue Have fun with you new glasses.
Silkie Congratulations to your DD
Lemon I hope you work situation improves for you!

They were supposed to mail the results to my GP, but could not beause of a shortage in admin personel. So my GP got the results via phone and put me on enzymes straight away.

Small progress: DS used the hoover, meaning he can now cope with the sound. Smile

And a picture of the Landwehrkanal at 8.30 am

Good morning! Starting the day with half a grapefruit so feeling very healthy. Having a couple of days "holiday" aka wandering around the county on public transport with a driver who is happy to adapt to the new way of travelling.

MissConductUS · 26/08/2022 15:36

Well done, Flatmountains. I used to eat a lot of grapefruit and I love the red ones. I'm more of a Greek yogurt person now. Enjoy your holiday!

Thank you Missconduct. Played an enjoyable if unexpected game of ping pong in a shopping centre.

HelenaJustina · 26/08/2022 20:25

Congratulations on the results silkie and Prok

Work sounds dreadful lemons have you got other options or are you staying to fight it out?

I really bashed the third and fourth toes on my right foot this afternoon while sweeping the kitchen floor. They are super sore and fat, I’m medicating with Prosecco because it’s Friday and the holidays are nearly over!

Put a cold compress on the toes and take some ibuprofen.

I'm just had my exam with the nurse and am waiting for the GP

I hope work improves too. I’m giving it a month when we go back. Have a meeting next week with my staff and management committee. I have very little faith in the management committee who have handled this awfully.

I have also booked a doctors appointment as I feel anxious all the time.

In dull news have to take DS’ wellies back to shop as they come over his knees 🙈.

Lemonsandlemonade · 27/08/2022 08:17

Agh hadn’t finished writing then.

Oh no Helena that sounds painful.

Prok well done to your DS great re hoover.

Have a good trip Flat.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 27/08/2022 08:25

20 °C here and incredibly humid and a 98% chance of heavy thunderstorms.

DD wants to bake "Apfelkuchen sehr fein" (there are basically 3 types of apple cake in the family book). DH is off to get the apples but insists on having raisins added to his share.

HelenaJustina · 27/08/2022 08:40

I love apple cake Prok I made a banana and chocolate chip loaf last night with two bananas which no one was going to touch otherwise.

sueelleker · 27/08/2022 09:31

I've got a recipe for apple cake that I add chopped walnuts to.

Deathraystare · 27/08/2022 11:52

Not unexciting - I am about to get het up! I now realise I will have to get a taxi into and from work tomorrow and Monday due to the double whammy of the blasted Carnival PLUS the bus strike! I cannot walk much at the moment because of rheumatoid arthritis, plus a very painful (for some reason) heel.

So half my pay for the two days is going on taxis. Bloody hell!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 27/08/2022 12:22

Walnut and apple go very well together. The cake DD is making expects apricot as well (aprikotieren ?)
