Definitely U2 - lucky enough to see them twice & it was epic!

Another vote for Muse - amazing live

NotAdultingToday · 23/06/2022 19:19

Muse
Snow Patrol
Ed Sheeran
Pink

All amazing gigs in different ways!

MyfanwyMontez · 23/06/2022 19:21

The Psychedelic Furs - all of their gigs I’ve seen have been brilliant.
Hall and Oates.
Crowded House
And Duran Duran have never failed to disappoint me.

It’s always the most recent I’ve seen if they’re half decent. Have just seen Texas and thought it was wonderful-open air, engagement with the crowd and giving everything two we could have a good time. Still buzzing!
But realistically, it’s a cross between The Police in Fréjus in 1983 in a ruined old amphitheatre in the heat of the south of France or Queen in 1984 in Paris when they were doing The Works tour-bloody love that album.

southlondoner02 · 23/06/2022 19:26

Flaming Lips at a festival
Pulp in the mid 90s
Prince
There's a band called Ozomatli who I've seen a few times live who are great. There's loads of them and at the end they come out and play their instruments in the audience, on the bar, everywhere. Fantastic

DeepdaleDuck · 23/06/2022 19:27

ELO at NEC, Birmingham 1980/81. Absolutely Fantastic

paisley256 · 23/06/2022 19:28

Prince
Santana
Guns n roses
Faith no more
Tina Turner
Barbra Streisand

PussInBin20 · 23/06/2022 19:46

George Michael (25 Live)
Coldplay

AmberGer · 23/06/2022 19:56

I have only ever been to one live concert and that was to see Tina Turner at the Don Valley Stadium in 1996. I'm not one for concerts as I don't really do crowds but my girlfriend at the time wanted to go and, as she paid, I went along with it.

I can tolerate Ms Turner but I wouldn't say I was a fan. I have to admit that I was very impressed. She sang all the ones I liked and she sounded just like she does on the records. Her support act was Toto and they too were very good, singing the three songs of theirs that I know, Africa, Hold the line and Rosanna.

All in all, a good night and the after-concert entertainment when we got home was also very good.

I'm coming on here to say Tina - seen her multiple times. Not with Toto, but Bryan Adams as support.

And also Texas - fabulous live.

And Chris de Burgh. Amazing live. Oh gosh - total showman.

I'm off to a festival this year and cant wait! Live music again!

ChristmasFluff · 23/06/2022 20:34

Babyshambles. On form, they beat The Jam, U2, even The Smiths.

Tbf, they're also the worst band I've ever seen live tho. Their quality was massively variable.

Best act (rather than limited to bands) has to be Iggy Pop. Always amazing.

PhoebeFriends · 23/06/2022 20:41

INXS in 1989

Maltester71 · 23/06/2022 20:46

U2, Zoo TV and Zootopia.

Maltester71 · 23/06/2022 20:46

Zooropa! Not bloody Zootopia

TheVolturi · 23/06/2022 20:56

I've seen loads but Stereophonics were awesome, really good atmosphere and no dickheads. Oasis, omg carnage. Bruce Springsteen was amazing also. Bonjovi were good but did not sing Always which I was so disappointed about! Manic Street Preachers were always good too.

GuyFawkesDay · 23/06/2022 21:01

Stereophonics
Muse
Coldplay - not my bag really but was totally blown away by the "show".
Elbow. Have reduced me to tears before now.

Wish I'd seen the Foos live!

Alabama 3 somewhere in their local area

I saw Alabama 3 in a dive in Streatham (?maybe?) something like 25 years ago. I was annoyed as the dive had UV lighting which showed up all the little bobbles on my boho turtleneck jumper.

Best act (rather than limited to bands) has to be Iggy Pop. Always amazing.

I saw him play (as a support act at a festival) when I was about 15. He was sporting an entirely see-through plastic pair of overalls. Made quite the impression on me. Would not recommend this as an outfit to anyone.

FrecklesMalone · 24/06/2022 00:05

Ohh tough. The gigs I have absolutely love include:The Specials, Blondie, The Eurythmics (first gig aged 11 very happy), Dolly Parton, Imagine dragons (with my son's who were massive fans at the time), the Beautiful South, NWA, De la Soul, The Cure, Orbital, Self Esteem, Super Furry Animals.

always wanted to see Pulp but missed them have seen Jarvis Cocker several times but only selfishly plays obscure Pulp songs. Tosser I always think!

Orangesox · 24/06/2022 00:08

Evanescence, probably about 18-19 years ago - they were utterly phenomena, I was truly mesmerised by how faultless their performance was.

Close seconds are Linkin Park, HIM, Def Lepard, Chic and Frank Moody.

Absolutely gutted that it didn’t get to see the Foo Fighters before Taylor passed, I’m certain they would’ve featured well up there.

CornishTiger · 24/06/2022 00:16

Snow Patrol Eden project 2006 and 2022 were ace both times.

Bryan Adams Bare bones 2014. Seeing him next week too.

Bon jovi 7 times now. Best time still first time. Milton Keynes 2001. last time Wembley 2019. Finally sang Always. Won’t see him again now.

Killers supporting u2 in 2005 were ace.

sterophonics Eden 2009 were ace. I need to get tickets for fortnight time at Eden.

I have Eden on my doorstep. I’m lucky.

Stabbitystabstab · 24/06/2022 00:27

Muse (not a massive fan,, heard they were good live and bought the tickets. I was absolutely blown away!)

Pearl Jam (last night of the tour they REALLY went for it)

Foo fighters (incredible energy)

SkiingIsHeaven · 24/06/2022 00:30

Foo Fighters without a doubt.

LBOCS2 · 24/06/2022 00:35

BobbinThreadbare123 · 22/06/2022 16:33

Rammstein - always excellent
Alice Cooper - what a show!
Def Leppard - impeccable rock cheese
Rage Against the Machine - never to be repeated, unfortunately

Rage are playing Reading and Leeds this year - they were due to headline in 2020 but have moved it. Original lineup, not Prophets of Rage (who I also saw at Download in 2017).

Muse and Pink both put on an excellent show. The Darkness are always good fun. Really enjoyed Skindred last weekend.

The Offspring doing Ignition start to finish was probably one of my favourites though.

kieronsmum · 24/06/2022 00:36

cliff he was great
