What is your earliest TV memory?

Mine is coming down for a cuddle with my mum (not a regular occurrence) and Emmerdale being on. Derek Pollard was in some kind of restaurant or bistro arguing with a brunette lady. Emmerdale is on quite early so I'm guessing I must have been 3ish as I went to bed and got back up again.

Mine's a bit different. I was very young and my most lasting memory was the 6 O'clock News (1960s). My father always watched the news and it marked the end of the children's programmes (that I don't really remember from that age). One night I hadn't gone up to bath/bed straight away for some reason and the news had pictures from Vietnam. The horror of it stayed with me for years. I guess it was the first time I realised that not everywhere was nice like my family's little village. I have always been a pacifist and I guess this is where it all started.

Seeing Mrs Thatcher on the news and thinking it was my grandma (they had the same hairdo!)

I also have vague recollections of a kids tv show called Toybox but no one else seems to remember it. I’m sure I’m not creative enough to have made it up.

@Hardbackwriter Sacrilege! Why Bird was totally the best stop, I used to turn over in disgust when it was the patch stop.

I did enjoy an Australian show with a wombat (Willie the Wombat), koala and kangaroo. I moved away from the Midlands region and nobody had ever heard of it. It was called The Tingha and Tucker Club - does anyone else remember it?

The Monkees in the late 60s or early 70s. Mainly because I remember watching it in black and white and then dad bought a new telly and the following week I was watching it in colour.
Davy Jones was my favourite and I actually saw the band when they toured the UK for one of their anniversary tours.

I've thought of another one - at the beginning of Camberwick Green they had a sort of carousel, I used.to like that bit.

I remember watching Sons and Daughters with my gran, the first episode of Neighbours (I was eating a fried egg sandwich, on the window seat) and Take The High Road. She was a big soap fan.
Children's TV, it was Moss Chops the dinosaur and Orm and Cheep.
