I'm wording this terribly but I'll give an example or two to show what I mean.

I was on holiday in the Dominican Republic and I was very ill from the malaria pills we'd been advised to take and could barely eat the whole time there. We went to a local store after 5 or so days of this and bought Milky Way bars(U.S Mars bars), cans of Cola and little tubs of plain Pringles. The food stayed down and somehow tasted incredible. I still dream of that meal.

Also the packs of little biscuits you get in hotels. I buy biscuits at home but somehow I get excited by seeing what mini packs of biscuits they have. Also the tea selection.

And when I was a kid, those little multipack boxes of cereal somehow always tasted much better than cereal from the big packs.

Does anyone else have any other examples? It doesn't have to be food related.

A cup of tea made in a pot & drank from a teacup instead of a mug.

An afternoon bath

New pyjamas

Freshly washed bed linen that's been dried outside

Starbucks Americano with a drop of fresh cream.

Its so generic and Starbucks is the same everywhere but I still love sitting with a cup of coffee in the window of the Starbucks near me, watching the world go by.

Walking in light rain in summer when it's warm. The smell reminds me of every UK holiday I have ever been on

Ah yes.

Starbucks tall latte - one shot and a plain croissant. And smell the croissant when tearing it open.

Seeing wildlife in the garden or when I’m out with the dog. I know this really is special and I’m incredibly lucky to live where I do but I suppose what I mean is it’s something that happens daily but always feels totally magical, never run-of-the-mill. Seeing deer always makes me feel irrationally excited and happy, even though there are thousands of them round here and they’re considered a pest so it’s hardly unusual!

A coffee in the garden on a warm day when no one else is around making noise. It restores me!

New stationery, nice pens, sharpening a fresh pencil and the lovely smell of the little wooden curls.

The warmth and lovely green growing scent as you open the greenhouse door. I always have a private little chat to my tomatoes and cucumbers as I tie in the new growth and nip out the axial shoots on the toms. Like meeting friends for a catch-up.

New books.

Lemonade or orange juice always feels special when I drink it out of a wine glass.

Going to bed in the morning after a night shift, is always better than going to bed at night, especially in the winter months.

Agree Aunt Margo and even better if it’s pissing down and the wind howling!! Absolute bliss !

Doing a food shop in the evening. No kids, not a lot of people, no deadlines. Bliss. 🥰

I mainly drink coffee but occasionally have a tea. I have a small teapot and a proper china cup and saucer that was given to me a few years ago.
