Heavily pregnant and have lost all inspiration for meal planning.

What are you having for dinner this evening? ☀️

Veg from the garden - peas, carrots, etc. plus whatever it is I've put out to thaw from the freezer - hopefully striking it lucky with some steak - which I will grill or fry quickly, with potato wedges (done in combi microwave as it's free solar)

prettytoes · 15/06/2022 12:55

Spinach pie with some salad

Novella12 · 15/06/2022 12:58

Tantanmen ramen. First time I've made this, hoping it will be as tasty as it looks! www.mob.co.uk/recipes/tantanmen-ramen

Very simple and quick one for us today!

Burgers. Homemade - just beef mince (with extra beef fat grated into it) seasoned with plenty of salt and pepper, made into patties and fried.

Burger buns, lettuce and tomato, raw onion thinly sliced, gherkins.

Ketchup, French mustard.

For lunch today I’m making salad niçoise. On the side, globe artichokes dressed with lots of butter, garlic and parsley. Also bread and butter.

Dinner yesterday was Korean hangover stew made with beef short ribs. Rice and noodles to go with it.

Tomorrow we’re having dal, and roasted broccoli/cauliflower with curry spices, had with rice. Also poppadoms with raita, pickled lime and mango chutney.

Friday we’re planning an evening picnic supper (fingers crossed!) so I’ll make sandwiches: smoked salmon with dill and lemon butter, cheese and our homemade chutney, as well as ham terrine with our homemade piccalilli. Crisps on the side. Also a Victoria sponge for after. Elderflower pressé to drink, and earl grey tea to have with the cake. Picnics make me very happy! Smile

Haven’t planned any further than that!

Peach, tomato and mozzarella salad.

Bimblepops · 15/06/2022 13:15

Prawn and aubergine curry, with naan and pilau rice. Taking advantage of DS2 being away on a school trip to cook things he doesn’t like!

Monkeybutt1 · 15/06/2022 13:15

DS has 20 minutes between after school club and martial arts so he is having a peanut butter and jam sandwich (he looks forward to this Wednesday tea) DH and I are having a jacket potato with Tuna and Cheese.

Not sure yet, waiting for DD1 to decide. She’s in Uni and her BF is bring her home, but he needs to return to his home. So, either local pub or if not meatballs with pasta and salad.

mbosnz · 15/06/2022 13:25

I love these threads! (Food is a happy place for me, and the Good Lord knows we need all the happy places we can get at the moment.)

Tonight we're having greek marinaded lamb, with pilaf rice, and salad (and I'm doing asparagus, beans, broccoli and carrots for she who is offended by the mere existence of salad. . .)

Chicken and bacon pasta bake. Unadventurous small children

dancingmarshmallow · 15/06/2022 13:38

@BadAtMaths2 oooh this sounds yum. Is it a ready meal type thing? Can you post a pic of the package ? Coop stuff is usually nice in my experience

resuwen · 15/06/2022 13:41

Rick Stein's sausage and fennel ragu. I'll also be trying the chorizo summer stew at some point!

Chelsea26 · 15/06/2022 13:42

chilli which is in the slow cooker now, have friends coming over.

Also have people coming over tomorrow and Friday - need ideas for them too and coming up short!

dancingmarshmallow · 15/06/2022 13:43

I'm making a chicken and bacon pasta bake but currently have a post running about keeping the sauce from drying up in the oven. So I could be having wizzled pasta bake if I can't think of a remedy lol

AmongstTheCosmos · 15/06/2022 13:43

Salmon, asparagus and jersey royals with hollandaise. Strawberries and Greek yogurt for pudding.

NiqueNique · 15/06/2022 13:44

@mbosnz i love them too, and food is definitely one of my most happy places!

Could really have done with a lovely, crisp glass of wine with/after lunch today (it’s gloriously sunny here for the first time this year!), but as I’ve things to do this afternoon I decided on tonic, bitter lemon, ice and a slice of lime instead!

Lacedwithgrace · 15/06/2022 13:44

Tomato and basil pasta with lots of cheese on top and salad. Fairly simple but won't heat up the house to cook. Maybe garlic butter on toast if I can be arsed. Tomorrow night is takeout pizza night for DH's bday :)

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 15/06/2022 13:44

Fried halloumi will feature.

That's as far as I've got so far.

Vampirethriller · 15/06/2022 13:45

Frozen Southern fried chicken breasts and Waldorf salad, cucumber, lettuce and tomatoes.

I hear you sister! I am working very hard at not drinking alcohol Monday to Friday, but crikey, I'm looking forward to a nice cold 0% alcohol beer!

Oxo01 · 15/06/2022 13:46

Chicken in wraps.
Salad, bulgar wheat and humous

RinklyRomaine · 15/06/2022 13:47

Garlic baked chicken, roast squash, beetroot and new potatoes, broccoli and asparagus. Possibly with a nice glass of rose in the garden given this weather.
